Let's Fix Elemental Defense - 20 Supporters - Fixed Formula

That's a creative way to put it...

 

you have ID's on the outside currently, I would be more favorable towards switching the places of DPS and ID's in your suggestion to be like this:
(base damage roll x ids x powder damage boosts - elemental defense) x spell multiplier x attack multiplier
That is just my opinion and I am neutral on this suggested change.

 

I'm pretty sure id's are outside of that. @motoki1 do you know?

pls, you cannot block Fatal's damage with only 500 thunder def.

 

Bcz of dex boost c: I had no damage boosts and could still damage someone with 500 thunder def.

wait, what about weapons, which have slow/very slow/super slow- attackspeeds, but your other gear gives +attackspeed. Is that also bad, or is that op? I allreaddy knew that elemental defence was kinda op, but I'm not sure i get the hole attackspeed thingy.

For an example, alkatraz + cancer. would that be super good because of the base damage beeing high, or would it become worse because of the added attackspeed?

 

Pretty sure they will take the original attack tier for the spell formula, and cancer has like -125% base melee and spell :)

 

Its -98%, btw I used the Wynncraft damage calculater <-- ( Super cool ) and the spell damage goes pretty insane if you add attack tier, but it does not have any option, to add attacktier, after spell damage is calculated.

I also only have 1 cancer to test the added attacktier with ingame, but i dont know if it would be accurate, since of the dex bonus thing, and the -spell damage. I dont have any other items to test with, I hope that it works prior to spell calculation, because if not some items wont really work at all, with some builds anymore, for example breezehands.

 

Well -98% is not base, thats the lowest you can get :) Also that calculator is pretty outdated, since +attack tier id no longer affects spell damage :D

You might have expected that the ID +attack speed affects your damage, but it doesn't.
Over 6 months ago, there was a big problem many people abusing that it actually boosted the damage. (including me)
So anyway, don't worry, +tier or -tier of ID won't boost or reduce your damage. If you're using Cancer, -Spell % or -Melee % would still affect your damage though.

ok thx, but uhhm could you then update the calculator, that would be awesome, so I (and other people) dont end up making really bad builds...

btw the calculator is pretty dope though, even though it aint 100% correct.

 

I know the damage is not 100% accurate, but how is it outdated?
As I explained, if you have +tier or -tier ID, it only affects on your Melee attack speed.
So you can (have to) ignore that ID when you use the damage calculator.
