EDIT: In all seriousness, unless a thread is egregiously bad (as in, game-breaking exploits or hate speech/threats kinda bad), it's not worth it to delete it. Locking a thread instead of deleting it helps more for showing an example of what not to post on the forums or to show what happens if a thread gets too out-of-hand to others, and also allows anything good from the thread to be viewed. Deleting accomplishes none of that and all it does is leave a bad taste in people's mouths from overzealous censorship (which was a HUGE problem on here until recently) except in the few very extreme cases it is warranted. This is coming from my personal experience and not a mods so feel free to take this with a grain of salt if you want.
