Youtube Rank - Problem & Solution

I am about 85% sure that it's a 3x boost.

 

Center-justified paragraphs are actually harder to read by definition. Your eyes have to find the beginning of each next line because it doesn't begin in the same place every time.

 

I guess it's easier to read for me because of fast eye movement speed. thanks though, fun fact

 

The problem is that in order to get YT rank, you need to make wynncraft videos, so most people make a Let's Play of it to try and GET yt rank. Once they get it, they aren't gonna do another let's play with the xp boost, they already did a let's play. Instead they just get this 3x xp boost they barely even use for video making, because at that point, they've already made all the videos where xp gain would be an issue and now they're making videos where xp isn't a problem and they get this huge xp boost anyways.

 

Hmm yeah, i agree that could be a problem. but from what i've seen nobody has done that. i think all wynn youtubers still make wynn videos. hippie for example has a livestream for his assassin and archer, and another archer on youtube. dont know that much about the others since i dont really watch em

 

Keep in mind that Salted himself chooses who gets YT rank, and can most likely remove it, so problems like this don't occur.

To be 100% Honest, Roi, I don't think this thread was really necessary... Still informative, though. No hate whatsoever -- Just my opinion

 

It is but it used to be 5x exp

 

I think that they should be given the option to turn it off, I think that would be pretty irritating to max out just by doing all quests, whats the point of even playing if you can max out just by doing the "fun" stuff, it would become tedious and almost grind-like. Just my thoughts.

 

Just have it disabled for them at lvl 100, since they got the content they wanted, and also will be fair on the leaderboards. done

 

We got a winner here, now only half the way to lvl 101 is going to be 3X exp!

 

Thats not the point though, yes its to their advantage, but you do realize how much time the put into youtube and all their work into youtube helps advertise Salted's server, yes it is a little unfair, but if you really want to get that bonus, do youtube! And again, its to help the youtubers make more content, better content, and advertise wynn, when wynn gets advertised, there are more players, those players buy stuff in the wynn store(all that money goes to wynn) and that money helps keep wynn running, without more players, this server would die out

 

You do realize that they are more of the co-owners right? They were some of the lead designers but its still salted server

I take it from this perspective: youtubers have worked very hard on their YouTube channel and in my opinion, they deserve txp. Sebbelonien suggested adding a toggle, to which you can always do /guild xp 66 to remove your boost or /guild xp 33 to have permanent dxp (I don't know why you would want this though...). Also, YouTube txp comes in handy while making tutorials and guides, so in my opinion, it's just fine?

 

So why do we have YT TXP?
1. Encouraging players to make videos about wynncraft, therefore making it more popular.
2. Keeping youtube let's play series entertaining by skipping grinding.
3. Rewarding youtubers who have gotten to thousands of subs, it takes a lot of work (sometimes).

While there are valid reasons why it is in place, the xp bonus still feels unfair. Probably because we still have a grinding problem (especially levels 90-100) and WE WANT TXP BADLY!

Now, what happens when there is no longer a grinding problem? Then we don't need TXP, but it would be good to give something else to youtubers. Something cosmetic would be best. Possibly after the 90-100 filler quests are added, we could nerf the bonus to DXP since TXP wouldn't be as needed.

Right now, I think TXP is necessary to get more players on, but only until you are able to complete wynncraft without much grinding.


P. S. The solution that you can only use it for video purposes is a good solution, but kinda hard to moderate.

 

The solution I will say is simple, Remove their ability to compete on the high-scores. Make it so that if a youtuber wants to compete on the high scores. They need to dismiss their 3x Exp. This will make it so that them getting to 100 is no special feat. Along with making it so that if they want YT/Media Ranks, they can choose if they have the rank Exp or not.

My real opinion?
I really don't fucking care who has Triple exp, Double Exp, or normal exp. It doesn't effect my gameplay. So I really couldn't give 2 shits.
