Wilderness

Here's some ideas to hopefully turn this around in a better direction:

1. Make the Wilderness a separate server that you can access by entering certain areas on the map
2. Instead of letting players steal others' items, grant small XP bonuses or extra Emeralds (or maybe Gold Coins, as you can no longer purchase those, so they'd basically be out of EULA territory... I think)
3. To discourage 2v1 situations, make it so that only players who land the finishing blow will gain any benefit, and killing players who finish off another player within 10 seconds grants an additional bonus
4. Prevent players from losing their items while in the Wilderness (which would only be populated by players), and instead prevent them from staying in the Wilderness after dying 5 times
5. Move the Nether's current imbalanced nature to the Wilderness, and revert the Nether to the previous system (players all have scaled damage and health)
6. Rename the Wilderness to something more unique; maybe the Badlands or Calamity Gates

 

This is quickly becoming a flame war...

 

Because apparently it's cool to just completely shit on a person for coming up with an idea that they don't agree with.
Because constructive criticism can be switched out for non-substantial remarks such as "Terrible idea", and "nopenopenopenope...nopenopenopenope", and "Worst idea I've seen on here no joke", and "lol fuck no", and "Go back to factions!".
Because that won't scare off new players at all, or dissuade them from ever improving.
Because this is truly the pinnacle of acceptance & free discussion in this community.

First of all, I believe it's apparently obvious that people have a very negative opinion of this thread. However, most of the responses left on this thread are not constructive whatsoever, and only seek to bully the OP because they didn't know any better.

I never said I was directing this towards you in particular, or everyone in general. Just towards a certain group of unnamed individuals that continues to do this time and time again, and are somehow rewarded for doing so.

Sure, maybe I'm having a hissyfit, but it's an opinion of mine nonetheless.
