woah first time i can actually understand these discussions and say something on this one

    here we go
    MAJOR'S BADGE BUFF

i have done a lot of messing around with major's badge, because I find it a very cool ingredient to work with. (also dominant force was a great addition to the game im so happy that exists).
However, it is completely over-shadowed by other ingredient effectiveness ingredients.

decaying heart, doom stone, obelisk core and plasteel plating are all better options than major's badge for a few reasons:

    1. They are more predictable. Now this argument is much less valid, because the whole point of major's badge is to kind of be unpredictable. Here is what i mean by unpredictable: say you get that nice -145% effectiveness on an ingredient from MB, but you might also get -50% on an ingredient that you want to keep. Using Decaying heart, you can simply get -100% on the specified ingredient, and +75% on the one you want to keep. This is what makes MB very hard to use, because there are going to be very few cases where it is actually useful. And when it is useful, all the other ingredient effectiveness ingredients over-shadow it because of reason #2:
    2. Durability. MB's negative durability much higher than most of the other ingredient effectiveness ingredients, probably because you were expecting MB to have lots of uses and be quite powerful. Well, in this case, the negative durability makes most of the useful crafted items with MB, have less than 100 dura. With MB, I think that lowered negative durability should be able to make up for it's lack of uses. And let's not even get into using 2 major's badges, it is completely unviable because of the negative durability.
Alright, now for how I would change MB:
    1. In my mind, dominant force should be a basic, less powerful version of major's badge. The difference between them, is that dominant force doesn't affect all of the slots in the item, only 3, and its positive and negative ingredient effectiveness are much less harsh (which is still quite useful in scribing, and sometimes in woodworking). Major's badge shouldn't have to affect all of the slots of the item, it can be like dominant force, but with more powerful percentages regarding ingredient effectiveness.
    2. Just nerf the negative durability. There is no other way I can put this. Please do this for all the reasons i gave earlier up.
As for evidence of lack of uses for major's badge: lets just say that the fact that it goes for like 2 EB on the market should be enough.

Thank you for reading my text wall.

It's really not "unpredictable", you just have to map out and add the effectiveness together by slot. This thread, while the recipes are outdated, still has the maps of how much effectiveness per slot depending on where you put it :https://forums.wynncraft.com/threads/most-professions-crafting-challenge-majors-badge.244969/
(Although I do agree it needs less -dura)

Maybe "unpredictable" was a bad choice of words, but I explained what i meant by it, and that still stands. Also, I use that chart regularly when trying to figure out stuff with major's badge.

I disagree somewhat with #1 as it does have its uses. Flipping in general may be a bit niche but it's still really good to have a -140% or 145 on one corner from an ingredient in the opposite one. Plus, decaying is good and all but not applicable to all the profs Major's for, as well as it only giving -100 and not allowing for space for some other flippers like obelisk, doomstone etc.
Also decaying isn't used for flipping usually as +dura ingredients are basically a necessity for endgame crafting, as well as other % eff boosters that can go next to it and tank the -100(in elephelk's case it's actually a good thing as it negates the reqs)

    Ooo ingredients!

I’m only going to talk about the grinding aspect of ingredients for leveling profs as I know this the most. Here we go.
    • Woodworking/Weaponsmithing/Alchemism/Armoring/Tailoring: Lots of easily grindable ingredients. Nothing needs to be done about these.
    • Jeweling: There needs to be a T0 easily grindable ingredient for Lv 50s ish and Lv 80s ish. Most prof tryhards use either T0 gold bars from lv 30 all the way to 100 (very cursed) or gold bars to lv 86 then T1 ivory tusks.
    • Scribing: Oohhh boy scribing. Scribing is NOT BEARABLE without totems! Even with totems, it is still a bit painful. There needs to be a easily grindable T0 ingredient at Lv 70s ish. The current ingredients in place (T1 auras lv 80s and T0 silver feathers lv 95) could use an extra easily grindable T0 at Lv 80s ish, or just make the drop rates of the auras a bit higher for those without totems.
      • However said, the main problem is the amount of ingredient to material ratio you need to level up scribing in general. Unlike all other crafting professions, scribing uses the least amount of materials, requiring the player to gather way more ingredients to make up the lost xp gain per craft. For those that don’t know what this means, the more materials you use means you get more xp. You get more xp crafting a necklace than a ring for example.
    • Cooking: More variety would be nice, although ingredients that are easily grindable right now are bearable.

I didn't say that flipping is useless or that major's badge is useless. I said that major's badge's uses for flipping are not very common, as it is much easier to use decaying heart for most recipes, because of it's +75% to other ingredients too. And other professions have similar items to decaying heart, which are even better for flipping: wood working has obelisk core, weaponsmithing has plasteel plating, jeweling has doom stone, and i guess alchemism is the only one stuck with major's badge.
And also, decaying heart can be very easily used with obelisk core, doom stone and plasteel plating. Just do things like this:

    [Decay] [?]
    [Ingred] [obelisk or doom stone]

    [Decay] [ingred]
    [?] [plasteel]

EDIT: here is an example of some of the awesome stuff you can do with decaying heart + obelisk core: https://www.wynndata.tk/cr/201530495

That’d still make every new player who doesn’t know that a vulnerable target, especially since neither the /class reset nor any potential toggle are mentioned in game. If there were any high level ingredients with even a little bit of, say, -health, you could easy kamikaze a newer player with said scroll while they’re in combat, drop their health to five, and have them die instantly to anything that touches them wih no counterplay. You could pull similar stunts with - mana regen or -health regen, and probably ruin people trying to take on a dungeon boss with a -int or -damage scroll. Hell, people were using positive health ingredients with lunar charm before it was changed for the sole purpose of making -health scrolls

Since ingrd sp doesn't contribute to the requirement sp, they should buff all sp ingrd to make it so that we can create items that give a great amount of sp (but not too much it is overpowered). An example would be able to craft like a +68 int accessories/armor that allows you to get 50% reduction without relying on the water meta (almost like you can craft -raw spell cost items).
The current state of sp on ingrd is useless maybe besides + intelligence sp

For Lv. 50 there's ghostly essence T0 and Pillaged fragment T1 that drop from mobs by the house of Twain and are easily grindable.

The sheer amount of ingredients required to level up at high levels is insane. And to be honest, it's not fun for most of the levelling up anyway. I think that T1, T2 and T3 should still be as rare, but T0 ingredients need to be about 50% more likely to drop (I think they're at 20% right now? If that's the case, then make it 30% or even 40%)

You clearly haven't seen the gigantic buff to ingredient amounts you can find in lootchests, a single run will fill your pouch

You mean +68 from all four and not just one right :)
But yeah I agree if we can't have crafted sp contribute to builds (which I kinda don't like but I suppose with all the uniques and rares getting reworks its fine) having insanely high stat boosters could be very cool. Also really high sp all around could really be a nice buff to rainbow support for that extra sp elemental damages.

I suggest the tower between Kander and Cinfras County, it has a T4 chest and some chests on it, there also some exclusive mobs there which MIGHT drop ingreds

This is a bit more directed at crafted items, but I'm totally unwilling to use crafted items due to the possibility of a small change to an ingredient making a crafted item totally unusable. I think you need some way to prevent that from happening, while also allowing previously crafted items to be buffed and nerfed based on the ingredients they contain.

Durability is also both a huge pain and not really worth it in my eyes; by the time the item exceeds a normal item in power, it has such low durability that it really isn't worth using. My friend stopped using his crafted pants after they broke during EO, despite him having repaired them just before going.

Remember PoH change? Yeah. ffs. We definitely need some sort of change revolving around buffing and nerfing stuff. I believe there is a suggestion thread about a de-crafting system, and that might actually be the best way to handle this. At any rate, I also don't really want to craft amazing stuff as I figure it'll get nerfed or changed in a month.
