If this is what I think it is this would be amazing.
Being 1010 I have legit no real use for totems (Screw grinding items from mobs)
So I generally just run around the map and let friends use them or random kiddoes
So it would be so nice to just go oh hey look corrupted sentinels! /totem and just leave them for 30minutes instead of coming back every 5 mins 6 times.

My only issues are:
1) I'm pretty sure we have all dropped a totem for a random lvl 20 and thats cool 5mins is fine... But I don't want them to get the whole 30! I doubt I will remember to turn it off.
Solution? /Totem [Minutes] ( 1-30 If no number is give then just places for max time)

2) Little know thing. classing between totems "resets" the spawn rates. Dunno if this is true but I do notice a large improvement when I do it.
Solution? Dunno... I guess you would be able to do the time thing and its just then about preference.

3) Not really an issue... But World resets? If it hit the world reset timer would it just stop?
Solution... Once it hits 5 minutes the Totem auto stops (Gives you a 5min warning ya know)

But other then that would love to actually see this implemented. +1

3. I'd personally say when the server restarts (like 0 seconds rather than 5 minutes) the totem auto stops

First Proposal

If you've donated to this server, I'm sure you'll know and understand the struggles of placing a totem whilst a thousand mobs are storming towards you, so I am suggesting a simple change that should be easy to implement. Instead of having to go through the user interface to put it up, just use the command to spawn one in.

Second Proposal
-
I also have a second proposal that expands on the first proposal along with improving the flexibility of Wynncraft users and their usage of totems. Rather than having multiple totems for a set duration, just have 1 totem that has a maximum limit of 10 / 20 / 30 minutes (depending on rank) - and have a /totem command to turn it on and off, like a light switch. When the totem is enabled it will go down from X to 0 minutes and when the totem is disabled the timer will stay paused at whatever time the totem was at when it was disabled.

VIP = 10 minutes = [5x2] Totems
VIP+ = 20 minutes = [5x4] Totems
HERO = 30 minutes = [5x6] Totems

Reasoning For Why the Second Proposal Will Greatly Benefit the Community
One good example of this working is if I place a totem down, and then 1 minute later somebody knocks on my door. With the current implementations, I would have to leave the game and thus the final 4 minutes of my totem are wasted due to bad luck - but with the new format I could do /totem to disable the totem. After seeing the person on the door I can come back to the game and do /totem again to resume my totem. From that example, 4 minutes of the totem were prevented from being wasted.

If you approve of this please vote in the poll or like this post. The more of those we get the more likely it'll be implemented in game. If you have any questions or doubts, let me know and I will do my best to provide a useful response. Also if you do approve of this, please comment your opinion on what priority this suggestion should be at (eg: high/low priority)

Q & A

Q: Will there be a way to tell if a totem is placed down or not?
A: By doing /totem a small chat message will show up saying "your totem is now enabled" or "your totem is now disabled"

Q: What will be done to prevent spamming /totem to troll the server due to the message 'X has placed a totem in x location?
A: After using /totem to disable the totem, the player will have to wait 20 seconds until they can re-enable the totem

Q: What will happen if a totem is active when the server restarts?
A: When the server restarts, the totem will automatically be disabled.

Q: Will players be able to see how much time they have remaining for their totem?
A: Yes, by typing the command /Totem Duration the player will receive a small chat message "Your totem has X minutes / seconds left"

Q: I'm worried that I'll forget to remove my totem after placing it down!
A: Users will be able to place the totem for a set duration, an example being /Totem 2 (which will place the totem and run it for 2 minutes before automatically disabling it). The number afterwards can range from 1 - 10/20/30 to indicate the amount of minutes. However the disabling command /Totem and server restarts will override the custom set timer.
