I don't think I'm following that sentence. The fact that RtD was delayed wasn't hid from the community until the last moment, it was revealed almost half a year before the update was released, and even 3 months before the changelog. Some of the things you said in your post are very true and something the CT is trying to improve on, but I feel that sentence isn't completely accurate.

It was already said many times but I would like more communication with the community. There was a CT member who posted a video about an NPC that appears when you walk to the north entrance of Ragni and tells you something like "Hey! don't tire yourself doing all professions just chose one of them." but when I tried searching for it again it disappear sadly :(

Also, I'm kinda sad that they changed the max level from 101-104, it's so annoying to see the max number to be 104 :/
The most hatful thing is when I realized that the prices for bank pages 14-21 where above 16Le >:(

I respectfully disagree. https://forums.wynncraft.com/threads/announcement-regarding-the-next-update.233594/ That is the post I am referring to which happened 3 months before the patch notes and 4 months before release. The problem is not that they said next update isn't RtD. I can understand if it's not RtD for internal reasons (that were later detailed by Salted). The problem is that the thread still doesn't give a general feel of the next update either. "We sunk many hours into building and developing this area but unfortunately it looks like it will have to wait for a future one.

I've learnt not to say too much about the upcoming updates for fear of this exact situation but basically the update has changed fundamentally and the workload of RTD being included was too much to add." -Grian. That's the closest to information on the next update that we get for another 2 months, throughout which Salted drops more of the semi-shitpost spoilers that still didn't have anything concrete either. I have problems with the limited information we were given and the "don't talk about the updates" mentality that Grian expresses. I understand that the content needed to be pushed back, but that doesn't mean showing off a cool thing here or there is a bad idea, especially if you want to avoid something like potential confusion or negative community feedback. That's why other game developers have started doing big QA livestreams about future updates to their games. I don't think we need livestreams, but showing nothing leaves too much for players to guess and get their hopes up when the content's not what they expected. Control the perspective, rather than let it run loose is what I'm trying to say. The CT has the information, so they need to use it more wisely.

I'd question their reasoning, not their skill. Either way, lets avoid ad hominem.
I agree with this a lot. I feel like it goes back to the topic of actual content in the update. The new system feels interesting in the beginning, but there is a lack of diversity in ingredients and the massive grind to 100 in professions feels like it's used to inflate the amount of time to get to 100 rather than add substance.
I don't quite agree with all of that. I think the CT has been trying to address the issues and fix problems, but there hasn't been much communication even after the threads I linked got closed. I even said the threads shouldn't have been /closed and instead used as forums for discussion, but the CT has continuously shut its doors and locked out players from seeing anything, good or bad. All I can do is work with what I've got, and none of it is favorable. The update needed more time, content, and a tinge less grind. If anything, the grind should be 20-30 hours from 0-100 in professions. Then focus players on hunting down rare mobs with specific drops and powerful drops. I'm not saying all crafted items are bad as I've been watching the crafting section and know they all at least have high HP, but they don't feel much different from each other. I'd have much preferred another 100 or more items be added to endgame than the current system. Combat XP should continue to be the driving factor for progress, not professions, but I have hopes that both crafting and the grind will get refined into a fun and balanced experience soon. Also fishing on lily pads sucks.

I wish I got those messages from the staff instead. You're a little more aggressive than necessary. They do have some bad reasons for some decisions, but not all of them are terrible. I think adding crafting was a good idea, it's in the name of the game after all. What I do have problems with is the tangents that you start. Personal vendettas aside, please be a little more understanding. No one should be stooping to any opposing side's level, that's not getting us anywhere and causing more problems.

I agree with this thread's want for critical but collected and constructive discussion, so drop the over aggressive tone. Getting to a solution is more important.

I agree with all of it. I think ingredients should be more diverse going into the future, but we know that's going to happen, just like with items. What I'm really worried about is the professions grinding. I agree it's needed to a point and without any leveling system, there would be a lot of problems, but getting materials is also really annoying from what I've heard. The material weights are redundant handicaps IMO, as you can only carry 64xItem anyways. I think those lines of code weren't worth the time. I think the introduction of crafting and searching for rare ingredients will also encourage players to explore and fight new/tough opponents. Again, I think going out and hunting ingredients is part of the level experience, and not all of it should be clicking nodes, which is why 20-30 hours for harvesting professions sounds more realistic to me.

i guess i should elaborate further
the first problem is the volunteer statement, this is the most common excuse for when the ct gets criticised or makes a bad descision; which is total bullshit. I understand the amount of work they do with no pay is ridiculous, but just because youre a volunteer doesnt change your rsponsibilities and acts as a fallback or excuse for when they mess up. If you dont plan on being dedicated or doing a good job, which im sure all of the CT does, then dont volonteer.

2nd problem is the "most of the content they make is out of their control" This is omly partly true, the consepts they have to bring to life are out of there controll, but this isnt what the community generally criticises the CT about. (ofc some people will but thats just ignorance and is not generally the case) The community criticises the CT for the content that is in their control, gameplay, mechanics etc.

3rd problem: "CT has feelings too" Ah, the "these people have feelings too" argument. My single most hated argument in any situation. Its just a sissy's way of bailing out of some criticism. Everyone has feelings, but they shouldnt be held to a higher standard than criticism. Ignoring criticism because it may hurt your feelings leads to failure. Im not saying its acceptable to be mean, but the whole "feelings" argument is just a load of shit in general

"CT are volunteers" can't be an argument. Yes, the CT and mods devoted their time on making wynncraft when they are unrewarded. However, there is a lot of people out there was giving constructive criticism, like how can some quest, some mechanics or some mobs can be changed, but somehow they aren't really listening to some of these opinions (where the heck is Eye of the storm and the realm of light revamp). Just don't tell me that volunteers have their other things to do, focus on what they do just in wynn. How come eye of the storm doesn't have a revamp even though it has been cited by the community that it is one of the worst quests? Also where is the shoutbox? Something that people want should be in top priority, not something like "ye ima do it but after 5 years".

Also I don't think a lot of people are hating on the CT or the mods. We rant for some mythics buff. I ranted for "ADD LIFE STEAL TO FLAMESHIT HILT" with my whole guild. So what? Are we saying smth like "oh fuck u selvut(silvahmirror) you aren't buffing my things"? No one is saying it. You mentioned "hateful things" which I may know what they are, but even the post by bloww isn't really about how the CT/mod sucks or smth, he was just stating how they are disconnected from the community, which is a truth. I admit some people are being complete assholes by putting up a hate speech towards the CT just because they don't got their desired update, but that is the really minority.

If the content they made is critized by the community, then why don't they do it better before proceed to other things? The realm of light is unfinished for 4-5 years, then why wouldn't us shout about it? No one really knows whether they release some content that is completely irrelevant to the lore. In some occasions, something they did was failing to achieve the purpose too. Such as:
When they nerfed quest rewards and the good ingredients has a 0.02% drop chance.

It can, we just have to explain why it's not a strong argument, which has already been done multiple times.
I think a lot of that is really important, especially shoutbox. I feel the eco update was released with the "we'll fix it in a year or two" mentality to boot. I understand that releasing something by a perceived end date is important, but the quality of the title shouldn't suffer as badly as this.
No, I did hate on some CT personally because what they were saying was terrible, but I want us to move past that (not linking it) and fix the parts of wynn that need it.
I've already tried that line of thinking multiple times before and after the update <-- (tldr post). I never get any meaningful responses from the CT about drop rates. Again, CT communication is exceptional.
This is the most I've gotten from the CT about drop rates and ofc it's only when the drop rate is literally intended to be 0:
TLDR: Grind Mobs should have no drops but the current item drop system is separate for gear and powders/potions, the ladder of which is not functioning properly. It confirms a theory I had and that's it. So:
If I haven't pointed it out clearly enough yet, I'm definitely seeing a pattern in their responses.

A COMPLAINT ABOUT A CT (COMMUNITY TOO) RESPONSE FOR A DISCORD FEEDBACK

One of the sad things that I saw on the forums/discord is when someone give a feedback and gets answers like "Deal with it" or "This will take a lot of time there are more important things" or "Why will this be add? you can already do it in five minutes" (Tutorial Skip) etc.
I won't say that this always happened and sometime these answers are kinda right, but when someone REALLY tries to give a helpful feedback and get those answers is very annoying.

Two days ago I saw a feedback from a player that says "Make it where you can still do the new quest, but where if you'd already done it you don't lose access to what it gave you." (like the bank in Almuj) and most answers were in the lines of "We have limitations" or "This isn't inconvenience" or "Not many players have this problem" etc. I don't really have much issue with this, but I can understand what he means because Tutorial Skip.

If possible I would like a satisfying answer (even a little bit), something like:
"The problem with this solution is that it will miss with the function with the quests, Ex: when you complete this stage you have received access to Karla Farm, After a while it has been Revamped now you still have the access but when players start doing the quest it will confuse them because on the mid of the quest it says that the NPC will give them an access to the farm if they helped him because he already has an access and when the player finish it will say that they have access to the farm which they are already in. There are a lot of other things that will need to be tweaked (if it's even possible) for this to work, it will to take the time to make a single quest or more, which would you rather? most players will prefer a quest instead of a very small QOL that will take a long time to make. There might be a solution on the future but for now there isn't."
Here, you can see a clear (not really) answer to the feedback not something like "This isn't possible and even if it was it will take a lot of time which we need" which is an acceptable answer sometime but not for someone that really tried to transfer the feedback to the CT.

In the end, I was expecting a better way of answering a feedback to someone who really tries to transfer the feedback to the CT.

Note: I'm not saying that this always happens, but the fact that it happens by itself is something worth mentioning in this thread.
Edit: Also, I don't meant this as an attack for the CT that response to the feedback, infact i'm happy to see the CT actives on the discord I just didn't like this one moment.

This comment probably has a lot of incorrect grammar, but spare me.

I'm glad everyone is peacefully contributing to the conversation. I feel this is a place for members of the community to express their opinions in peace. I have noticed that some people have criticized and disagreed with some of the points made in the initial post, but that's to be expected with posts like these. As far as I see it, everyone is entitled to their own opinion as long as it isn't over dramatic and starts flame wars among others.

I think the main thing I wanted to elaborate here is that constructive criticism is what the CT needs, not flat out hatred that doesn't help them improve at all. Yes, I know criticism can be harsh at times (I've dealt with it a lot), but it shouldn't be so harsh that it goes from helping the CT to just berating them for their content. The CT does an overall good job with what they do; it's just the recent hiccups in the last year (RtD delay, level cap increase regarding level 101, etc) that have set certain people in the community off.

The only thing we can really do is hope people can be more considerate of the CT's position, giving feedback as much as possible and avoiding comments that just portray hate and nothing else. If that can happen, the community of the server will feel more at peace.

I've been skeptical since before the update and vocalized my gripes with older content, but I think there's also evidence that it's been present for a while and only came to light after the update. As salted discussed in his post, they had issues behind the scenes even before Eco update released, really since Gavel. Their responses to game mechanic questions outside of bosses and item identifications (damage calculation) have always been lacking IMO. So, you're not wrong, but I'd say the update compounded the problems we've been having for a long time. That combined with harsher criticism was a bad mix that set off a flame war which seemingly everyone got involved in. TLDR: Everyone be nice. Understand others even when it's hard. CT: Don't dismiss criticism right away and answer more questions when possible. If you withhold information, then others who don't have all the aspects of the discussion will be stuck in the same mindset (Don't just say they're wrong, prove wrong). This is a good model discussion thread.

Hey, I'm an old builder from a year and a half or so ago. When I joined CT, I was obviously really excited. I did build-related work for at least 4-5 hours daily for over a year.
What people don't realize is how much work goes into each update. Every update builds on the last, making it so that the amount of work required increases tenfold per update.
Further, I was a mere builder. There are guys like Imaxe and Snerp that would literally be online or working on something while not online seemingly every hour of the day.
There's also the argument that we don't get paid, but I don't really want to go into that.
What I'm trying to say is that you guys should give a lot more respect to the CT. They give up a lot of their free time to make something that others enjoy (many, including myself, did not play regular wynn when we were ct) for free.

what were saying is that regardless of what they give up they still have a job to do. And if they do a poor job and the community points it out they should cherish the criticism rather than hide behind "were volunteers" or defend everything they do
    ________________________________
I also want to touch on this.

Because the CT is so busy means they don't have much free time to play the game. Meaning they have much less time to experience or analyse a mechanic in an actually game-time setting rather than a test of sorts. Since the regular playerbase has much more time to do this they are more quallified, in many cases, to make criticism on a mechanic.

I don't know if you remember me at all (not many do) but I used to be on the CT and I spent hours trying to make content that the community would like. Still, I feel that my efforts mostly go unnoticed, and while I don't care that much about it I do understand where you're coming from. The CT work hard every update and even though not many get to do massive projects (I wanted to put in more time but I never could because no one would let me) they still do substantial progress.

I believe the CT should be more open to criticism though. Not hate, but constructive criticism and peaceful rants that elaborate on things the community wants. I've been told by CT recently that a rant I did about the connection between the community and the CT was offending people, which I don't really get since that was never my intention. Simply pushing away a problem won't do anything to help. If the community helps give feedback about CT projects, then I feel the CT will be more respected and will receive less hate than they're getting currently.

I want to rejoin the CT, but right now they don't want me back for personal reasons. That's why I've been trying to do whatever I can to help soften the blow I've seen the CT taking recently after this update. My only hope is that it's helping them, and hopefully not harming them in any way.
