Wynnic Olympics Recap - Day 12​

We're more than halfway done with the olympics, but the final standings in terms of points are still up in the air, given that there are two dungeon run events and two secret events remaining.

The 6th Scavenger Hunt began today, and so far only three teams have been able to find all five locations, with Team Pirate Cove claiming first place. I've been trying to find harder locations, but I guess that isn't working out too well.

I've decided to extend the deadline for joining the olympics to the end of sunday. Team Llevigar is currently the only team with an open slot (consider joining them!), but some people could always leave the event in the next two days.

Wynnic Olympics Recap - Days 13-16​

A lot of time has passed since my last update! Two scavenger hunts have concluded, with the latter of the two being very difficult. Only Teams Corkus and Troms were able to find all of the five locations. Players also are continuing along on the 2nd Secret Event, and one team is much further along than any of the others.

The 2nd Dungeon Speedrun event concluded, and the winners are as follows:

The next speedrun will require players to solo the Eye, and only the Eye, as fast as possible!

I'm also planning a special bonus event after the 8th scavenger hunt, where each team submits their own secret location that all other teams must find. Other upcoming events include a hide&seek game at Ragni tonight, and the second Wynncraft kahoot game tomorrow.

Most importantly, teams have finalized and completed their islands for the island creation contest. I'm astounded by the amount of work each team put into their custom location, and I feel like the submissions and their voting process deserves their own thread. I'll keep you observers posted.

Wynnic Olympics Recap - Days 17-19​

At long last, a team has completed the second secret event! Congratulations Team Pirate Cove for doing the near-impossible.

The island creation competition is almost over, and I need your help! Head on down to this thread to vote for your 3 favorite fanmade locations.

In other news, the olympics are basically wrapping up. The last kahoot and hide&seek games have concluded, and the Eye solo speedrun competition will end tomorrow. The final "new" event is a bonus round of the scavenger hunt, where all teams (well, most teams) submit a location for the other teams to find.

After 3 weeks, the Wynnic Olympics have concluded. This was an incredible entertaining event and I hope I made a lot of people happy with it. My goal with this event was to bring the community together, and let players make new friends, and I actually think I may have succeeded in doing this. My event was definitely not without flaws though, so this was definitely a learning experience for me too.

Unfortunately, I doubt I can host another Wynnic olympics. The only reason I could afford hosting this was because I got very lucky with lootrunning this summer. I don't think I have the motivation to make 15 stacks of LE again, so don't expect the Wynnter Olympics... at least not from me. Anyone in the community is more than welcome to host their own olympics!

that was very nice, from the speedruns I kept failing to staying up till 3 am for the screenshots hunts (why 2 in sky islands!) to the Oranges of Twain Mansion to trying to brute force a password (still need da walkthrough) I had a lotta fun, thanks for hosting!

 

really fun event, it got realllllll close at parts, glad to have met so many new peeps

 

It's true what they say: only once you reach the top you realize it was barely worth it.
