I feel like barriers should only be present where they need to be. If an Acrobat can fly over the mountains, that’s fine to me because it won’t be too huge of a skip and would somewhat compensate for the slower flying speed. However, barriers on the world border should definitely exist for obvious reasons. But the random barriers blocking off cool builds that are well within the map’s boundaries? I see no reason for those to exist.

I agree with this statement -- I was just trying to figure out why they are there.

A lot were removed, and shortcut was added between Eyeball Forest and Ruined Olmic City.

You give a lot of praise to a pretty mediocre build. If the barriers weren't there the build likely wouldn't be there either. It's just an artifact of old SE

Just because it isn’t the best build doesn’t mean it isn’t worth exploring. No matter how outdated the build may be, I’d much rather be able to explore it than have it blocked off by barriers. From what I could see, the building behind the Dern Portal is of similar style and quality to the ruins in the Mines, which are mostly explorable. Obviously, I didn’t build it, so I don’t really know how good it is, but wouldn’t it be so much cooler to find an “artifact of old SE” and be able to fly over and explore a little rather than just glimpsing it from afar? Even if it was just the path to the building that was accessible, and the only way to get to the building would be to walk through the tunnel, it would still be a great change IMO.

Also, not trying to argue about it here, I’m genuinely curious why there’s barriers above the Eyeball Forest/Olmic City shortcut? Like what is their purpose? It looks like totally open space

Then why doesn't Aledar just pull you back if you stray too far during the quest, instead of negatively affecting gameplay in SE permanently with barriers? I understand if it's like a dev thing, but if it isn't than I think that that would be a better option

That's true, I'd still rather it be accessible but if the choices are remove it, or have it blocked off, I guess the latter is the better option. Thank you for the explanation!

Prob to allow players to explore the areas they are going through instead of being tethered to a quest and being forced to only be able to explore those areas later.
