This isn't meant to FIX the economy but to slow it down so a fix can be implemented

 

I did read. And "slowing it down" still doesn't work in this case. All you'd make is a huge problem. Please read carefully and think about the potential messes.

 

Making the playerbase mad won't do anything but have a loss in players
your suggestion is the most forced and unfair way to fix the economy.
I don't like these forms of suggestions, as generally the people who are suggesting it don't have to care about losing their small amount of emeralds.
While although you think it's unfair that someone may have stacks more money then you, you still have to consider on what other people will feel when they loose all of their emeralds.

Imagine you have an item you like or spent a hard time getting.
Then someone just takes it away from you.
Not the greatest feeling.

 

i know tho but the thing is with money sinks that the rich stay rich and pore stays pore cuz everyone need to pay it so you should get somthing that only the rich should pay and that should be somthing with mythics or somthing cuz most rich people got them right ? idk just its a hard thing to fix loo

My whole message was answering to one of your post talking about just "slowing down".
All my point are made to show why this wouldn't work.

Let's take my example shall we? :

Let's change your post idea from "too many rich players and its too hard for poor players to catch up" to "too many high level players and its too hard for low level players to catch up"
Resetting wynncraft would stop that... momentarily, because players that are high level know how to get high levels fast again... but that is if they still want to play..
Some players spent thousand of hours leveling up their classes, deleting all that progress because "its too hard for low levels to catch up" would just be the worst idea possible if you want wynncraft to keep on being active.

Stating that your thread is only there to give a momentary solution aka "slow down" isn't a valid answer to my posts, neither is it to the other people you quoted. I would however happily answer and debate with you as long as you bring up valid points.

 

If this proposal is indeed intended to "slow down the economic gap", this lacks some critical thinkings.

Don't rage on me yet. I'm not saying that the concept is wrong. The gap between the rich and the poor is indeed a bit too large and it's good that you brought this to the table. The misunderstanding here is that you think resetting the economy to ground zero will slow down the creation of economic gaps. But have you questioned what the true culprit is behind these differences? Everyone started off by grinding near the Emerald Trail, why did some of us become rich and some of us didn't?

The answer is simple: abilities. I'm absolutely not saying that the rich people are smarter or more hardworking. We all struggled along the same path, except some people stumbled into the right solutions after a long time of observing and learning. We didn't just magically become rich---being rich requires experiences and learning.

So how should we eliminate the economic gap knowing that what caused it is the difference of abilities? We teach. We need to pass down our "secrets of being rich" to those who wish to learn, and we need to share our experiences with those who are curious and ambitious.

So why don't we replace a large reset with a simple project? If everyone is willing to share their knowledge with the new-comers of the trade market and if everyone is willing to learn, there will be no gap.

Of course, you can argue that not everyone wants to share the secret of having 100+ stacks of le. This might be true, but I also know a lot of people who can easily prove it wrong, including myself.

 

The way you present this idea makes no sense to me. Lets say you have 2stx of LE - after this you will have 2EB. But someone with 4EB will still have 4EB. And lets not forget that now many players won’t even be able to afford a level 50 health potion since they’ll have less than 20EB

Sorry sir, I do admire your tendancy to fix something that is broke. In my opinion the stacks and stacks of LE are accumulated by selling Mythics. I have long advocated for something that would bridge the gap between Legendaries and Mythics. The gap is equivalent to the Pacific ocean. You have Legendaries that go for couple an LE a pop and Mythics that go for a couple of stacks a pop. See the issue?
Black goes for 5 LE if I'm not mistaken and even that is a godly one. Grimtrap on the other hand goes for 5-6 stacks of LE. A creation of a new tier "Epic" would really help in this. These items shouldn't be as rare as Mythics but they shouldn't be as easy to get as from a T3 chest without an LB set. So I'm thinking that the price should be half a stack to a stack a pop. Also lowering the Mythic rarity could help somewhat. Right now the chances are just too low IMO. Tell me if this was a good idea or am I drunk

 

The idea itself works. You didn't always had money in the game. It's just a reset.

 

I just realised that this solution will never work, regardless of how many emeralds get wiped.

Why?

Because here’s what any sensible rich man would do: invest in mythics.

Even if @SilverMirror loses all his stacks, he has every single fucking mythic in the game.

And although he probably has nobody who wants to buy his mythics, the only reason why anybody would want to sell their mythics would be to be able to buy another mythic.

I know he’s only one person, but almost every rich person in the game has a mythic, be it pure or Cata.

And anyways, for those who have less than a stack, you’re doing nothing to make them richer. The purpose of fixing the economy is to help the poor people, not fuck them up. You’re not making the rich people any poorer, you’re only affecting the poor people.

And if you plan to say “turn every mythic into 1 Emerald” and your suggestion ACTUALLY gets added, congratulations, you’ve fucked up wynn more than I fucked up my life. You’ve just turned Llevigar’s docks into WC1 Detlas.

Yep it will slow down since it will erase all those stacks of LE, but it doesn't mean it will actually have any positive impacts...

So while you are totally right, he will probably keep on answering with the same arguments as before.

I do have a question. I have 3 LE, am considered poor, even though I can solo LI with 2 diff builds. So you want me to have 3 Emeralds? So I can't even afford the ticket to my addiction?(Hint hint: Legendary Island)
