also it didnt end in bullying or harassment (because it was in an exclusive chat and was portrayed as smth bad) so even by your definition its an overreach.

the fact mods take one look at a screenshot and immediately give you warning points without trying to get more context or even speak with the user is absurd. before passing a verdict the mods should look at the context (are there missing parts of the convo? where was it posted? who has access to that channel? was the image doctored? etc) speak with the user and other people who were there.
thats how the old mod team used to do it.

like whats stopping me from changing my discord nickname and pfp to yours, making up some bullshit and then forwarding that to the mods to get you banned because they dont verify anything? (or taking an out of context screenshot of some random thing you said in a private chat?)

right ye i think that this particular instance was a miscommunication and y’all are right that instances like this paint a broader picture wherein the system - even if it would work well in theory - actually has a lot of problems. i guess you’re right in that it’s actually probably going to be impractical and end up causing more harm than good
