Yeah. Unfortunately, it probably will rake a long time for them to add this. I've seen plenty of other great ideas, so hopefully they get bundled together in the next update. It'll be worth the wait!

Remember, multiple quests explicitly said that the player was a human. In order for this to work, the game would have to keep track of the race of EVERY player, and add dialogue for every race, as well as give the player the correct dialogue for their respective race. And you would need to be able to be able to have different classes, each with THEIR respective races, and their own respective dialogue. And as for your example about Gavel, remember that Gavel was in the game's lore since Wynncraft was released. Dragonborne, on the other hand, have not. (As for the next province, we already have a pretty good idea of the next two provinces)

If they were to rewrite the quests, I don't expect each race to get different dialogue. I mentioned in my original post that players would be referred to as "adventurers". It would look like this:

Before
NPC: Hello, human! I need help!

After
NPC: Hello, adventurer! I need help!

Also, about the game remembering. If the game can keep tabs on every little buff and stat effect on every player wearing different types of armor and weapons, Im sure an extra rag wont kill it. Compared to the rest, it actually seems quite simple. Thanks for showing your concerns!

 

Fair enough, though I find it wierd that NO ONE questions the angel walking in their midst... Also still doubting the legitimacy of a Dragonborne...

I really like this idea. The only thing I have a problem with us the names of the races. Orcs and elves are in gavel and are often depicted as the bad guys (orc at least) so I'm wondering how this would play out. Oerhaoa you could create some original names? *no offense intended*

Maybe instead of having races at the beginning, The Wizard of Transformation transforms you into a different race at a certain level. This keeps the lore the same and makes The Wizard of Transformation way more useful.

 

Great idea, but then the player would have to choose the race that coincides with their stat build. Thanks for the suggestion, though.

- Anyway, although how it currently is would screw over the storyline; another way may involve quests, or npcs... It'd be a pain in the ass either way for the developers, but worth mentioning, I suppose.
- How most RPGs take it is that the race is from first existing, you've always been X or Y or Z. However, what if races were the characer (who has always been human) joining X, Y, or Z side, and 'becoming' said race in the most throwback way possible? Magic per-say DOES exist within Wynn and Gavel...
- For the most part, this was just a little scribbling down of nonsense thoughts on the subject...

Yes, I thought of these things for I while, which inspired the post itself. However, I don't think it would hurt the lore that bad.

I don't see how bad it can be. Aside from the skills, the stats are similar to Armor stat mechanics and Skill Points themselves. I'm not sure about the passive skills, but it doesn't seem hard. Thanks for suggesting ideas!

 

yeah, Dragonborne REALLY needs a nerf. it's basic attacks deal more damage than Bash
