Guilds Rural Player Discrimination Aka How To Fix Sniping

Because a few months ago people hadn't yet figured out just how much sniping matters and how hard you can abuse game mechanics to use it.
Believe me there really is no logic, you can lose having 6 players spam a banner vs. one person that times their /gu attack just cause of ping and randomness.
There is no strategy and everyone who believes otherwise is just clinging to a delusion.

But ping is literally the problem with sniping

 

i speak from a lot of personal experience pho's internet is HORRIBLE most of the time

 

i dunno living in nyc seems to fix the problem! all jokes aside great idea ;D

 

ESI started winning snipes overwhelmingly. I was looking at the warlogs

Normally I wouldn't be talking about alliancespecific stuff in a guild suggestion like this, but if it's gonna be a suggestion that makes your alliance absolutely invincible, I'm not gonna keep quiet on my opinion.

Also @hora6112/gaidg If it was an aboslutely broken system why did you only suggest a fix when our side became a threat again? If it's an absolutely broken system, why strain it more by making the pace of wars faster removing the cooldown? It can barely handle the war pace as it is.

Also do you not think that we also have our own people with bad ping too? You know what could fix the problem? put more proxies. There are some regions of Earth very barren on proxies.

I also find it rather offensive that you think I'm defending a broken system. What I'm doing is opposing a change that will basically Ctrl+Alt+Delete everything I and my friends have worked for and can work for. The game won't be fun if this change makes the mapholding alliance invincible

and on another note I do agree that there should be more proxies as a SEA player the amount of times I disconnect mid war or mid lootrun is absolutely infuriating

 

The solution is either this or we all move to NYC so it's not based on ping :)

 

the grace period is too dam long
back then, there was no cool down so to counter it, they added a whole whopping 5 minute cool down. Now it is less, but still significant. Who needs that long to defend? The system favors the attacker. There would be much more organization and make it much easier if you could actually just do /gu cede, or something similar, that terminates the wait time.

 

Because winning requires putting extreme stress on the people who live in major cities. I can promise you that throughout all of these "threatening" attacks, we have won with flying colors, even with the sniping system being broken.

The fact that we are winning every single sniping war and making this post to change it for everyone invalidates that statement.

Besides, we all know that this change will take at least a month to implement. I don't know if I'll be on the map in a month, but I know that investing in this change now won't make it impossible for me to attack the next map-holding alliance if I'm off the map, it will just be down to who is more coordinated, and who has more people, rather than who has more people in major cities willing to spend all day winning the war for a side.

And adding more proxies literally does nothing, unless every single wynncraft player has equal connection to the server, and everyone's requests are equal (but then, it's just who can spam their number pad harder, which is such a broken mechanic)

can you imagine any game, any competitive activity ever where the fate of the entire competition is decided based on your location and based on running around trying to send a command to a server 200 times a second? Don't defend it because you think it works for you, try to make it better for all of us to enjoy guild warring more.

 

I think it came from the fact that one person can out click like 7 people that are also trying to take the territory when everyone's spamming their numpads and left click

 

I'm sorry but if you don't want to wait a easy 180 seconds then idk what to tell you I agree that the RNG and the whole if your not close to NY is bad but saying the timer is long isn't reasonable, it isn't a bad timer its just the RNG that needs fixing

I just dislike every big warring guilds, and especially in alliances were they just trade the territories together, either they fix wars or make another decent source of guild xp!

 

I literally live in Somalia and cannot contribute to wars so I don't play anymore. If this suggestion is added to the game then I finally have a reason to return and no longer need to hijack oil tankers.
