    It's a real pain when so many people can be reached by a thread, and yet your discord doesn't grow because of this rule.

    It does, just slower, because many potential members don't know they can/are too lazy to start conversation and get the invite this way

    yep also now that discord links are banned, people somehow convince themselves that other methods of delivering that link are somehow allowed which wouldn't be a problem in the first place if the obviously safer option wasn't banned
