After a phone charge and a short subway ride, I got this:

The reason your cost is lower then the first set is because of 2 minor flaws (that can be fixed)

Figure 2 is relying on the assumption that there is a 2:2:4 ratio for the first horses you breed every time you do it.

For the "second breed" you are saying that there is a 100% chance that that would be a failure and result in another brown horse. By doing this, the ratio when you are breeding more expensive horses is more profitable then when you are breeding less expensive horses, which have a 100% failure rate in your figure. That artificially inflates the average in your conclusion.

By now, many of you are probably lost so I shall follow up with an easy example. Let's use a dice game for our example.

Here are the chips:
Brown chip = 3$
Black chip = 10$
Chestnut chip = ?
What is the chestnut chip worth? :O Let's find out!


For examples sake, let's say that 1 game will cost 2 chips of the same colour. To play the game, roll a 9 sided dice. (9 sided because you only breed 9 horses in your figure, which added up to a 4:3:2 ratio so it's impossible to do this with anything else and still use your fig.) Here are the roll outcomes:

1-4 --> one of the same colour chips you used

5-6 --> a chip of a higher colour :)

7-9 --> a chip of a lower value colour :.(

C = 65.5$

On average, you would need to spend 65.5$ to get a chestnut coloured chip. Even if that means swapping out chips for another colour. (Example 10 br for 3 bl)

Now let's solve this using your figure. (FYI, for this test, one of your mistakes was fixed as we use a 4:3:2 ratio in stead of wynncraft's 5:3:2 ratio)

Conclusion: If you fixed the math by doing what I said above and putting in a 5:3:2 ratio in each roll, you should get the first set of correct numbers.

I dont think getting white horses should be made easier. Its not a necessary item for anything at all. (See on earlier post of mine about that on another thread complaining about horse breeding prices... too lazy to find it right now :P)

So if anything increase value on the player market, but you cant simply do that as long as people are willing to sell at those prices. And if people are willing to sell that cheap then theres no problem anyway :)

 

I've read through your comments. My original calculations were incorrect, and following your explanations, I have corrected the errors in my calculations. I'm also either going to steal, or have already stolen, part of one of your previous posts, and edited it for clarity, so that I can fix my "original cost" thread.

Smart asses I can live with, as long as they aren't cruel. Noting that you were using sarcasm in your comment means only one thing; you weren't being cruel. I'm glad that you spotted the errors, and explained them to me.

 

You managed not to get angry showing maturity. I'm usually not a smart ass but it's only a trade off if I'm spending 2 hours redoing all of my math. I didn't respond as well as I should have. In the face of disrespect, you didn't mirror it and I respect that. That in itself deserves a follow.

Ah I get it...

 

No, it's actually a very clear and concise definition of algebra, even if it was partially copied from a very large, common, website, that we are all familiar with. Being a smart aleck or a smart @ss would have been to say "It's the set of brassieres that are worn by various algae."

 

If considered by age, I have that in droves. If considered mentally, @Noobynatty did a tremendous favor for me, in a private conversation with her. Her observations and advice were impeccable, so I've taken them to heart. In a nutshell, what I used for dealing with some of my colleagues, I don't need here, in this community.

 

I sort of did that to two other people. One got so mad that he ended up saying stuff soo immature, he ended up closing his account. The second, if he passed, would have gotten both a seekers aid and an ocean map. He didn't and let emotion get the better of him. The third passed.
