    Heyo,

I'd like to suggest a couple of things, chief (and only, for this post) among them are new craftables (/consumables) that buff/QoL Gathering. Giving an incentive to craft and make crafting feel useful while leveling it. It should kinda create a positive loop between the two and validate spending time (more enjoyable) on each of them.

    My examples may be completely off target but that wouldn't mean that the idea itself has no merit;

Scribing could craft books that boost gathering exp gain by 10-30% for 10min (maybe only work for their level and lower to be less powerful overall)

Jeweling could craft Tool-Accessories that boost gathering speed (shiny fishing bauble, gemstone sharpening-stone)

Weaponsmithing would get a repair kit for Tools *

Tailoring could craft Camouflage that allows you 3-4 more seconds of mob-invisibility after gathering a resource node*

Woodworking gets some sort of oil to "reinforce the handle" for a chance to not consume durability (kind of doubles with repair kit, I know, but that doesn't have to be a bad thing. Those are just ideas)

Armouring gets another tool buff but this time Tool power. So instad of 12% per hit you do 16% or something

Alchemy and Cooking are hard because they're already consumables. I like the idea of giving two crafting professions exp for crafting one item. Like the Woodworking Tool oil also gives a good amount of Alchemy exp or something. Or maybe +low % chance of getting a higher star material.

Cooking item could allow you to "attach a lure to your Tool" for a low chance of spawning a rare ingredient mob after gathering a node *

Obviously all of those are quick ideas for consumables and don't have(/need?) a way to interact with ingredients

I went through about at least 14 months of suggestions looking for profession-focused ones and I don't think I'm overlapping or oversaturating with this post.
My Profession experience is levelling an ironman/craftsman mage to 100-110 in all 12 professions a year or two ago, and a daggerman to around 80/90 in the gathering ones a couple more years back and right now a shaman with only farming at around 100 because I started a few days ago (Left Sui in front of the hotel in Hyloch mid-quest because I needed a palate cleanser).

    * means I'd really really like an item like that.

And please don't ever add Minigames to gathering/crafting. My laggy behind can't deal with it

These don't seem to actually improve the experience so much as they just add additional little bonuses to things, which only serve to make the experience faster overall.

I disagree. As a side-benefit it does intend to make profs faster. But I believe it also helps with some of the most often echoed complaints I heard/have. "Gathering is just mindlessly running from one node to the next for hours with nothing else to do" (I personally don't mind it that much) and "Crafting is just wasting resources for X amount of levels to finally be able to craft 1-2 useful things". Stuff like that.

As I said, the examples needn't be whats implemented. It's about the idea behind them. It's not that they shouldn't be discussed but I don't want the actualy idea to be overshadowed by that. I've limited myself to consumables that make use of existing systems and I obviously don't feel like they are all equally good.

I really don't want to change the gathering system itself into some Minigame. I want it to be as accessible as possible.

But I do believe in the idea "new craftables (/consumables) that buff/QoL Gathering" and in the three examples that I marked with an *. They'd make prof-ing way more enjoyable for me

how does this fix that. you'd still be running between nods for hours, you'd just have a buff that you also had to run between nodes to get that makes your current tedium faster.

Look , I'm trying to present an idea for Professions as a whole while focusing on the crafting side of things and some additions I'm confident in (*) and then some more or less fillers that would be often used/consumed so there's a reason to craft them while restricting my examples to existing stats and mechanics. And you take the weakest, explicitly stated to be not important for the main point (My examples may be completely off target but that wouldn't mean that the idea itself has no merit), possible, maybe, least interesting example of implementation and reduce my suggestion to it. I try to explain it to you again and you double down by saying it doesn't solve a problem which I explicitly stated doesn't bother me "Gathering is just mindlessly running from one node to the next for hours with nothing else to do" (I personally don't mind it that much) while disregarding everything else like the stuff that would change gathering (*).

I like gathering. I don't want to change gathering fundamentally. I level gathering without mostly bombs or extra gather xp/speed equipment. There's stuff I'd like to be added to gathering to remove some obstacles/annoyances I faced (
    *)

idk man, I felt inspired to suggest/discuss some stuff after reading through the rules for this section but I guess I can spend my time better. I'll just leave it open for people to read and talk shit
