Thank you for making this suggestion. Maybe it will get more attention if a Moderator makes a long, good threat like this. I like all of the suggestions and I think that professions need to get less boring and more importantly MUCH FASTER. All of those suggestions would help, but I think they shouldnt only make notes respawn faster, but also make the gathering itself faster.
Also this NPC in Detlas should give +20% bonus (if feel like 10% is a bit meh) ... it reminds me of the stones in skyrim :P

Thanks for all the feedback guys! I tried my best to reply to your feedback, but let me know if I missed something/
My plan is to remove profession speed bombs from the store, but anyone who purchased prof speed bombs already can keep them. Sorry if I didn't make that more clear in my post, I'll change it.

While I'd be fine with keeping all the effects of prof bombs and making them permanent, I feel like prof speed bombs as a whole should be removed from the store, as I believe a bomb that you basically need active if you want to craft anything is deeply flawed.

Your idea for crafting levels seems cool, but I still feel like it has a bunch of early-game useless grinding that will likely turn off returning players or people who want to primarily focus on leveling but still want to craft some stuff.

And yeah, I completely overlooked how crafting a level 100 item at level 1 would work, I'll need to take some time to think of a fix for that. Maybe something similar to how completing ToA at level 40 works?

Yeah, I agree that I may need to still buff the emerald reward.

ngl i forgot what everyone's submissions were

I considered a slight nerf to XP gain for non-prioritized profs, but I feel like it's best to reward the player for sticking with one profs rather than punishing them from deviating from that.

I really hope that being a moderator doesn't prioritize my suggestion over others, I should be treated like a player in this situation.

removing the crafting part of speed bombs is fine but what about the gathering part? it would still feel pretty obsolete to do gathering professions without bombs.
this message is just piggybacking off some quote reply way up in the thread btw xd

    Yea but as a Moderator ou get more attention automatically because;
    1) You are part of the team and (even if its not active thinking in your head it happens) you seem more honest and professional.
    2) Many people know you and have high expectations of you and you are a trustworthy and active part of the community, which also helps with getting attention :P

Im really happy that you made this suggestion, hopefully they change something :D

I've seen a lot of people in the prof community saying that speed for gathering should be kept - I guess I'll make speed permanent like with crafting in my suggestion.

Okay I haven't forgotten about incorporating all your feedback into my post - I've just been really busy lately.

Also, should I bump this thread every time someone says not to do profs?

So I know other people have either disagreed with being able to use lvl 100 mats/ingreds (if I understood it right) at lvl 1 so here's what I suggest:

Note: I'm not the best person to balance things - this is a concept suggestion

You can use lvl 100 ingreds at lvl 1 with no loss of slots but, any ingred above your crafting level gets an effectiveness and durability decrease for how ever much it is above your level. E.g. level 50 crafting, uses a level 100 mat. That would get a -50% ingred effectiveness but and a significant xp penalty but no durability penalty.

On the other hand, for every level you are above the ingred, you get the same bonus in reverse. E.g. lvl 50 crafting uses a lvl 1 ingred - that ingred gets a +50% if not higher boost to effectiveness and also a durability penalty of the same if not more.

This would mean that ingreds don't become useless if they are low levelled or high levelled. Also, I feel like the amount of options you have with ingreds is fairly low compared to the amount of weps you have to choose from. This is also made worse by the fact that you only really have a few useful ingreds for each crafting level. (My experience only). This would mean that ingreds can be useful even at a higher level. That being said, round down for things like mana regen and mana steal as that could become quite broken (possibly)

Now on a different topic, I really hate how you always have to leave your grind spot because your tool rana out of durability. It is the most annoying thing in grinding. I didn't mind the previous weight system with the refining as that meant you could store a bunch of unrefined mats and use them for anything. That being said, it might cause problems with not having to grind for mats at all on a new account as you can just get them from your bank and insta-level. Either way, make a better dura system for tools and/or make it so that you can have multiple tools in your inv without penalty. I don't even see the point in that other than making sure you have to go back to a city to repair or buy another tool which is my personal worst peeve when grinding.

I've decided not to update this until after 1.20's launch - I'd like to say how the new changes play out before making a huge revamp suggestion.

Great Idea but I have some suggestions that could improve even more the way it works. So 1: Instead waiting a week to change skill priority make it so it cost soul points (maybe 2 to 4)
2: It could be interesting to add new mini quests where instead of farming you have to craft an item for someone (lets say you go in Detlas and you find an npc that asks you to craft him an xp bonus bow) its pretty much the same thing as weekly tasks but we could add some lore to it (the npc asks you a weapon to defend his brother in the woods or other stuffs like that that make these type of quests less repetitive)
