This would be so awesome, but the issue would be that wynncraft uses buycraft (changed their name to Tebex or smthn smh) and they are exactly... customizable to this level...
Wynncraft would have to redo the store and make their own version to include verification, And that would take time.

 

If it means protecting us players from false bans, I wouldn't mind waiting as long as the store ultimately gets these added protections.

 

I've worried about this happening on basically every server I've been on - surely you can write a ban appeal explaining what happened and that you didn't want the rank, right?

in order to buy things online you have to do /storepin create ingame, and then the game will ask you to type in a 4 to 6 digit number pin. If you want to change it, /storepin change, and the game will ask you for the current pin and then a new pin.

If you want to delete your pin, /storepin delete, which will delete the pin. Obviously the game will ask for a pin first.

Now, when you want to use the store, you have to type in your pin. If the pin doesn't work, you can't use the store. If you have no pin at all, you can't login to the store at all either.

 

Yes, you could email Wynncraft's support email (I'm pretty sure forum appeals don't cover chargeback bans) to resolve a false chargeback ban, but the purpose of this suggestion is to resolve the root of the issue and not just the symptoms.

This is also a good suggestion, but the problem with this is that someone could continuously attempt to brute-force their way into someone's account until they guess the correct pin. It's essentially the same principle with current 2FA systems; using the same code repeatedly poses more of a security concern compared to having a new code generated each time you attempt to verify your ownership.

 

Well if this is a problem we could add a cooldown to how often you can do a code both ingame and in the store

For example, you have to wait an extra minute every time you get it wrong, so if they're guessing they'll have like 10 minutes between their 10th and 11th try, etc

 

This is a great idea, to help prevent unsuspecting users to attack them, but I also agree with the idea of 2fa to prevent abuse.

Sadly, I don't have control over gifting. Though, I can inquire about it.

Buycraft has some options for player verification (that work a bit differently from your suggestion), and I will be sure to look into it, as this is an issue that affects some players.

I delete my bumps since I don't want them to create a mess for other people in case they want to read through replies and also because I don't want them to inflate my post count. I do hope that's perfectly fine by the rules.

Um, then why put a poll at all? If something like this could be necessary, why put a poll? It's illogical, and whoever threatens people who disagree on this thread must have superior intelligence.

Wynncraft's Terms of Service on their store page state, "Your payment will go to the running of the Wynncraft Minecraft Server service, and is non-refundable under any circumstances. [...] Charging back a payment or using false details for payment will lead to a permanent ban on the Wynncraft Minecraft Server service and local authorities may be contacted on charges of fraud." The reason why most servers ban users for chargebacking is because they cannot undo a purchase. By filing a chargeback, you're essentially stealing money from the server since you'd technically keep your item if you weren't banned.
