World Personality Of "the Eye"

In any case, the Eye is a very important character, so hopefully the CT will do something interesting with it. All we can do until then is wait.

To be serious for a moment, I aggressively disagree. I think adding a personality onto the Eye would be a bad move. Don’t get me wrong, some villains are perfect examples of personality-driving, as my DnD gang will know' Strahd von Zarkovich is a perfect example. But that doesn’t *feel* right for The Eye.

Insanity? Darkness? Mystery? This feels more like an Eldritch Abomination. Elder God. Elder Evil. Eldritch Horror. Great Old One. All these terms relate to a mysterious evil entity from beyond reality who’s motives are so vast, entire worlds are nothing more than a speck of dust. Now, the Eye isn’t from beyond reality, and it isn’t world consuming. But you get the idea. It’s mind works in ways impossible for mortals to understand. It shouldn’t have a personality similar to a mortal, it shouldn’t be understood at all.

 

Ok I might just be an uneducated potato but is there any lore/statements/libraries/discoveries/tidbits/evidence to back up the idea the eye is evil or am I just stupid?

its literally groundhog day but if it reset when somebody else died. For what the temple and valley of time represent and the mystery surrounding it for like 9 updates i think we deserved more than that

 

It talks about a "cosmic event" and it made all olm evacuate the area.

I talked to the guy who made it and said that a sequel may be created in the future.

 

I agree, expect I would describe it as kinda hp love craftin horror.
Something beyond human reasoning, so much so our heads explode if we look at it in classic hp fashion lol.

The difference in propestive mostly has to do with how personal it is.

Something that makes us worship it, and simply wants to blow up the world Doesn't work. it makes no sense and its sterotipical.

The thing that doesn't even know we are here. Its simply destroying everything without knowledge that it is.

The first one is to personal as I said.
It uses us to gain power, and yet wants to kill all of us.

The alternative simply gains following from being that powerful. Yet it doesn't even know it has followers, its so far above our existence that it doesn't even realize we are here. Think of cathulu, that love craft horror.

In the Wynn Excavation Site D City, just before you fight amadel, there's a city w/ houses and stuff. One of the houses has a button that'll bring you down into a basement, said basement contains some knowledge about Dern and the Eye itself, as well as the Ancient's history.

Ok yeah. Lovecraftian horror, but wants the entire world to worship it / be consumed by its darkness. It knows we are here, so it’s not ignoring us as it destroys, but it’s still not “mafia boss who sits with you and offers you a drink before killing you” personal

 

I would imagine the eye not too be completley evil, more like a trobeled old woman. someone who had a terrible past and is hoping too fix it with dark magic, but evantually became corrupted.

 

No. That's even worse than a god person who calls others mortals that also is a pushover.

It shouldn't have a terrible past; in fact if anything it should've had the time of its fucking life by its standards in its past.

I'm just saying an element of elegance, like a Roman Prince or something like King Julien from Madagascar, just more matured would be nice.
