He basically said that the longer you spent in the Darkness that now rules Dern, the more you change into that Enderman shape. Skin darkening, becoming taller. This is why the Dern Minions and Ancients look as they do, being from Dern. But it's a progressive over time change.

This what in response to why Bob does not look like that if my theory on him being Dernic could be correct. Rujala basically said since he was only in Dern in his mother's womb, the effects on him were very minor, only turning his skin grey
