+15 int (and you can't have negative stats so the negative def doesn't do much)), 2/4 mana regen, and xp bonus 'isn't op'?

 

What do you mean by "You can't have negative stats"? Do you mean by "Stats can't go into the negative", or do you mean "Stats can't take penalties"? The latter is obviously false, and has the former been proven? I know the book won't show below zero, but has anyone moused over the stat to see the exact value?

 

You can't have negative defense or negative agility, for example.

 

That's been true from my experiences with skill-reset scrolls gone awry, but the armour for this quest would still take away any def that's below the 10 mark. If they've got 4 def, they now have none. If they had 9 def, they now have none. If they had 20 def, they now have 10.

 

I am aware, I'm saying it won't go below 0. Lots of builds don't care for certain stats (an example is int archer) and will take +15 int for +0 def any day.

 

True, although that simply means that it won't affect that stat for them. Others might be severely harmed by the change. Unless everybody's going for the same builds, the helm will see different levels of usage by the community, depending on their build of choice.

 

That's like introducing a 999999% melee dmg helmet and saying it's fair because not everyone does a melee dmg build. Sure the example is over exaggerated but the same point remains.

 

Yes, but that's not the case at all. There are alternatives that can be used to buff defence, or to buff other stats. This isn't a case of "Using the item is the only method that can be used to counteract somebody using the item" in your 999999% case.

Furthermore, let's take a look at the debuffs associated with this - in particular, the -1 penalty to walkspeed. Assuming this applies to blocks traversable, this could be a huge penalty.

 

-1% walkspeed? Jesus that is literally nothing.

 

It looks to be -1, not -1%. What that would translate to in terms of movement, I'm not certain. Sushiedonuts, can we haave a clarification?
