Bit late but i'm also going to say that I just finished the quest Purple and Blue and the final piece of dialouge said "The greatest minds reduced to Chickens and mushrooms" So the mushroom guy might be Yahya so maybe he was once a genius and created these?

 

Yeah, they're referring to Yahya. He used to study meteors, but then he went insane. When you get to the quest "???" you'll learn more about him.

On topic of the suggestion, I feel like Yahya is a bit too goofy for mythical items, given that he's pretty much a meme despite having a place in the lore.

 

I think the majority of those 650+ views just wanted to complain about the suggestion
