World Multihit Crowd-buff Effect.

My main class is an assassin...

1. I don't spam smoke bomb, nor does any assassin I've ever met

2. I haven't unlocked it yet, but some good uses for force are for moving an enemy off a cliff, or into lava, or just to get it where you want it.

3. Vanish is useful, it makes mobs lose interest in you, gives you an attack buff, and makes sprinting faster than a 10/10 brown horse.

The reason I play assassin is because I used to play a mage. He was built as a support, but my friends almost never played. So, I decided to get up to a high enough level to make an assassin. Not only is damage dealing fun, but with the right combos, you can do some real damage. For instance, spin attack to slow enemies, multi hit to get them away from you, smoke bomb for more damage, and vanish to get away, wash, rinse, and repeat. An assassin can help on a team, but going alone is much more fun as one. I don't understand why people want it to be a support class...

Assassin isn't made to support as much as other classes. Also, assassin is AMAZING at crowd control. While one of my friends (a warrior) struggles to kill 10 enemies, I killed them all in one move. Spin attack. Just saying, assassin isn't only good at 1v1s, we can handle ourselves just as good (if not better) than the other classes. It's only ranged enemies in general that we struggle with. That's why vanish is a thing.

 

1. I've met plenty of them it's "how you win" according to them
2. When? You're going to heavily damage them anyway, why not kill them for xp and loot?
3. I never said vanish was not useful, I said it was selfish
4. Of course you can deal damage. The wiki says it is the 2nd highest damage class (archer is #1) read my previous posts
5. People want it to be "partially" support, so it is more helpful in teams. I would much rather have a mage watching my back than an assassin

 

Good points.

1. Some people are wrong. Due to spells costing more mana as you spam them, assassin requires accuracy. Those people probably don't win as much as they say.
2. If you can't kill them or if they're a lot higher level than you. You could also put them closer to the warrior so he can deal damage.
3. I'd rather ditch my friend and not die than die with them. Sorry, but it's just the better option.
4. Well... Yea... I don't have much to say, the wiki is right.
5. A mage is useful as a support, if I want someone to watch my back I want them to deal damage and defend. Us assassins are good on teams because we have a high DPS, making us able to make up for the lack of health. But yes, a mage is super useful for health.

(Adding to #5) Really you can look at it two ways, have a healer so you can survive as you do damage, or kill before you take damage. Both are good options.

I agree with all of these statements besides the spin attack one, as the spin attack also ends up freezing YOU in place if you're in a party with a mage that uses ice snake, which is basically all of them.

Also assassins can effectively "defuse" a self destruct spell by stealing it's speed and freezing it in place.

Actually I feel like assassin is still #1 in terms of damage, as the bosses usually aggro on assassins during a party fight. Which sucks for me as that means I have to eat Qira's nukes of witherskulls.

 

Archer is a glass cannon. I actually play archer and it is pretty satisfying to one shot mobs 5 levels higher than you because of the damage. I play the spammy spam spam water archer with clairvoyance (lvl 68) and the damage numbers are insane

 

That's burst damage; assassins have the highest SUSTAINED damage.

 

You technically are right, smoke bomb CAN do 1640% damage, but only if everything hits. However, if you take a hive-infused bow, put all t6 powders on it, and fire a bomb arrow, you are doing the most damage in one hit in the game. The archer also has an arrow storm which I guess equates to a rapid fire smoke bomb

 

The arrow storm does knockback; it requires some extreme luck to hit all it's shots. Also, assassin has the advantage of being able to use all three of it's spells to attack at once.
Also they nerfed smoke bomb; it only does ~400-500% damage in one go.

 

The smokescreens overlapping no longer multiplies damage.

As an assassin I'm biased so....
