I disagree with Ice Bear. There are some players, me included, who play without sound. I agree that sound is important to make telegraphs feel more distinct and unique, but they shouldn't be the main way telegraphing is done. It would be pretty bad to have a player try to learn a boss pattern solely off sound.

I think at the very least having a telegraph for slowness would be a good idea. Some players, myself during my first playthrough of the game included, concluded that getting slowness was just a part of ice barrows and that you were meant to have it for the whole dungeon, that it was just part of how it was designed, and as a result didn't like ice barrows very much. I think Ice Barrows for the most part one of the best dungeons, and I think if the mechanic of slowness was better explained to new players it would allow more people to enjoy it. For a lot of new players the dungeon is also incredibly hard, and I think this would make it just slightly easier.
So yeah good idea in general

With the new spells for the Qira Hive, and the new particles being added to Wynncraft for the 2.0 update, it seems that some better telegraphs may be incorporated into it.

Until they can get their hands on more mob spells and more time to work on mob spells this is what we have, but they've already made telegraphs for certain mobs, mainly bosses. Many different bosses dont just use singular spells, but use spell combos, where they use a harmless spell to specify what is going to happen next, for example Geyser pit, it uses charges before every attack, and you can learn it, imo its more rewarding than text showing up that says "mob is about to use this spell" But thats just me probably. Anyway Geyser pit uses charge for every single combo, no other random spells. First phase if it charges once you know it'll use push, charge twice = multhit, three charges goes into a push, then goes into a heavy charge. You can identify these combos and act accordingly. Another boss like this is panic zealot, which it's entire arsenal is also warned by harmless spells before such as weakness, push or pull. They are doing this for all new bosses which I think is a good temporary solution. It causes the player to need to focus on patterns and memorise the combos. More examples such as dr legendary, which has a short amount of easily recognisable spell combos which you can respond to, such as push pull spam followed by teleport flamethrower, so you know to get away or stay close when he does that to make teleport overshoot. Plague doctor? Push goes into arrow storm, explore/charge goes into charge then explode multiple times. For all of these examples obviously theres more combos to them I'm just being brief, some people have already recorded the combo's and wrote them out. I agree the current systems suck but they've done a nice job of adapting, I think more mob spells to diversify attacks could be better but for now using more spell combos for each boss is a good solution. I dunno if it was like this before, but a lot of your examples already have spell combos with telegraphs.

Even though I have experience beating most bosses, including boss altars, I mostly don't bother learning spell combos. Without the forums, I doubt the playerbase would even know they exist.

I agree with you though, this spell combo method is a good temperory replacement for spending a lot of time working on telegraphing effects. However, it does not allow a player fully understand a boss's mechanics without careful study, as at first glance, the boss is merely randomly throwing out attacks. A player who is just looking to get through a dungeon or raid may miss these nuances in boss behaviour and just go HAHA arrow storm go brrrrrr. While I am aware of the time investment involved in such a combat overhaul, I believe that it will be well worth it, with spell combos being well highlighted, and bosses becoming more dynamic and unqiue, rather than just fat monsters.

Also, my examples are pretty bad, and act as just a proof of concept. They are what I would do if I was a Wynncraft dev, which I'm not. I would make a terrible developer.

For me I can find and highlight combos around the third time they use them or less, if the arena is mostly clear. I think if spell combos are told to people so people can pay more attention that would be great, and more mob spells would allow for more advanced combos. Me myself I don't really like the idea of "Hey look its blue guess I gotta dodge wave" and obvious signs like that, them being unclear kind of makes it more interesting for me, and it not being just one spell. But I think there should be better highlight for the combos existence. If the player know they exist(Such as I when I learned of them) They will want to search for them more and pay more attention, making battling more strategic and interesting. Without it being a extremely basic system of them using one attack based off a colour. I think having the player have to pay attention and strategic would be better than having them being obvious. Spell combos for me are already quite dynamic and interesting but they just need more variety from more mob spells.

Tldr: Combos being not easily recognised and rewarding the player for looking for them is better than obvious signs but I agree that they should be talked about in game and better highlighted, by making clearer arenas and less clutter.

I think we should actually have less diverse telegraphing. The white circle shouldn't even exist anymore. Mobs now just randomly cast shit whenever they please
