I no longer agree with this idea that I posted a while back. Just make it so that if you are standing in your territory when it gets attacked you get teleported in too and you can attack the people who are attacking you. Voila, the end. Someone already posted this idea, it's not mine.

i mean one glaring problem is that pvp is still broke but gimme a sec so i can re read the thing and write some more constructive stuff

    edit:
ok so you're say my biggest problem is the wait time and multiple war thing. While it does add a lot more in depth strategizing if you think about it from the average warrers point of view...waiting long periods of time is still a pain in the ass.
so firstly about multiple wars, will a started war cancel in any way? ie the player who started it leaves the territory or starts another war or something. If not, well big guilds will still have a huge advantage. They can start many wars in advance and once the first war is about to start head back to that territory and you'll be able to just follow the trail of wars you started in advance very quickly. basically, instead of start war, war, start war, war, it'll become start war, start war, start war, war, war, war repeat.
otherwise, either they'll have to endure super long wait times or have smaller guilds which is the next problem ima address

Isn't this basically just encouraging feeder guilds? of course if the strategy I outlined above is viable than probably not but i mean that's probably not what you intended. Anyway, this would be really sucky for the big guilds that are also community, like Fox. It's very big but (from what I'm told by one of its leaders) is largely community oriented. Guilds were never really meant to be purely war focused but this change would encourage that, making guilds purely for the sake of wars. While it would still be possible to have a larger community based on discord or something, a lot of people for some reason don't have such a platform/refuse to get it so it just complicates matters a lot. basically, I honestly am really intrigued by the increase in strategy that would come into play but honestly I'm not sure it would really turn out that well and i feel like most wars would actually be won by default than actual fighting not to mention actually coordinating a bunch of teenage students over the internet would also be quite unrealistic for most guilds anyway.

Now a final point i have, you're saying this would encourage recruiting people across timezones, but wouldn't that be rather counter productive? for example, you have three people in a guild with one person covering every 8 hours. wouldn't it be the same as having one person in the guild but having the wait timer of a three person guild?

Could you please explain how feeder guilds work? I'm writing out a series of responses to your arguments and will be adding them to the thread to further reinforce it for future commenters. Thanks for the feedback, I'll @ you in the thread once the new responses / arguments are added.

Also can you explain how having people in different time zones is counter intuitive? Im just saying that you would HAVE to have people in different time zones (which is good cause diversity) so you keep your territories, since if you arent online, you automatically lose it in the war.

basically have a bunch of guilds instead of a single centralized one, maximizing warring power at the cost of a community
yea so instead of having a bunch of people across timezones in a guild, it would be better to have guilds with people from seperate time zones.
for example theres 3 timezones, ta, tb and tc. it would then be better to have three guilds, ga, gb and gc each with players from ta, tb and tc respectively who can basically take turns holding the map throughout timezones as that way they have the best online players to wait time ratio (unless now that i think about it you only count online players in which case this wouldnt be a problem them lol)

    It sounds great!

One thing though: doesn’t this mean small guilds will never be able to hold territories if their players aren’t online 24/7? Since its auto-won if one side doesnt have anyone online

It would be hard for them to hold territories, although they could also take them much easier if they play their cards right. This is basically how it is anyways though... if no one is online their territory will just be shredded by larger guilds.

Also edited @WynnChairman ... Would be a good idea to read the "How it works" again and Arguments 4-6

It renders level 0-70 people useless in war. Also I think that big guilds would divide into a lot of smaller sub-guilds popping up to keep the total players from the original guild while having the ability to attack more often.

This might be biased a little because I am garbage at duels.

The problem I have with this suggestion is that most small guilds are going to stand no chance of taking teritories. Unless 20 guilds all attack at once they will be completely outnumbered. Furthermore, there will be no hope for a singular guild with a small war team to compete with even a quarter of fox or imps war team in a pvp battle. In addition the added base of pvp could lead to making guilds even more toxic even becoming something like hypixel. Its not as personal when your just fighting mobs, but when your fighting other people there is definitely gonna be a high level of salt.

0-70 are useless right now anyways unless they’re fighting very new guilds which isn’t likely. If anything is based on skill not just level now so people of various levels could be useful, even if they die they could have a strategic role. Also read argument about feeder guilds... people would want to stay in mother guilds cause they could run more attack’s at a time and it would be faster since the anti snipe timer...

I am back for round two.

One of the main things about Wynn raft is that it is not pvp based. Adding this would remove that aspect of it completely. I know that guilds are optional but they play a very important part in the game. As someone said above the main reason why the community gets along well is because there is little pvp in the game.

I am sorry to bash on your thread but I just can’t can’t see pvp wars going well in the long run. There is a guild update on its way and I hope that it fixes some of the current issues with guilds. I feel like there can be better long term solutions.

There is no where that it says Wynn is specifically supposed to not be PvP based... Why do you think the nether exists? Adding some PvP won't hurt, and again like you said guilds ARE optional... and no, they aren't a huge part of the game... you could never touch guilds and it wouldn't affect the rest of your experience in the slightest besides maybe after you have multiple 1-100 classes... Either way it's your opinion, if you don't like it, then don't keep posting here.

I know some people already mentioned it, but you are really glossing over this issue and how difficult it is to resolve it. Wynncraft has always been a PvE game first, and balancing most items for PvP would be an absolute nightmare. On top of changing most items, they would either have to change every mob stat and the current damage and health curves or give each item separate stats in PvP like how they currently do in the Nether. The former would be unrealistic at best, and the latter barely works as it is due to builds breaking once joining the Nether and that some items don't exist at all. Doing it in the main world would be impossible, since people’s gear might pop off or change because their gear’s stats changed in the war. And this isn't even mentioning all the broken mechanics they would have to fix such as powder specials, poison, rainbow tanks, mage healing, etc.

Lastly, PvP doesn't have to be balanced or fixed at all. It's been almost 3 years since PvP was doable. Even back then, PvP was nothing special and gave no rewards. People only did it because there was a huge lack of content in the game. If Wynncraft has been getting along with PvE, why should they have to recreate the whole item system just to tack on PvP? There are plenty of other servers that have been doing PvP much longer than Wynncraft and 10 times better, and if you want to use spells in PvP just go play Warlords. There's already so much debate about how to balance PvE, I can't imagine what it would be like if Wynncraft tried to do the same to PvP, especially when there is already toxicity in guilds...

So overall, PvP would just be a giant mess for the devs to try to fix and it would end up not being worth it since the server has been doing fine with PvE anyway and most other servers have way more experience than Wynncraft does.
