Why is it that when people are trying to defend and explain their arguments someone always hops in with the "flamewar" card?

The argument was getting somewhat heated, if you want to defend points then do it peacefully and calmly.

That makes sense, but would this and the "No Scamming" rule even apply to rigged contests? I'd like to think that they would, but I got the vibe that Staff doesn't think that way after my conversation with Virdian. That's why I made this thread and want it clarified in the rules that rigging a contest in unlawful, since it wouldn't appear to be a violation of the rules right now.

If somebody wins a guess how many giveaway and the host decides to give the prize they were about to gain to someone else, they are in essence losing that prize. To put it another way, if some guy went on The Price Is Right and won a car that was then never delivered, they would be losing that car. The same logic applies to rigged giveaways here!

The most plausible reason I see for rigging a giveaway is if somebody you dislike wins. If nobody knows what the winning numbers are, then it would be stupidly easy to pick someone else. While enforcing fair contests would work with the Discord channel idea, I see what you mean about it creating an entry level barrier for contests. Without that form of imposition, explicitly stating "Don't rig contests in a particular contestant's favor" is the next best thing. Sure, it's an extra rule a few of us need to remember, but when the time comes for such a rule to be invoked it would prove to be quite useful. Plus, it would be deterring to anyone who was planning to rig a giveaway!

This feels like a misrepresentation of my suggestion.. I'm only asking for "guess how many/guess my number" contests to be involved in this Discord channel, not the other various forms of giveaways (Some of which have subjective judging, like art contests). But I see your point about not everyone using Discord. While it could be said that such a requirement would encourage participation in the Wynn community over there, at the end of the day it could prove discouraging to some.

I have been aware of this rule, but I question it's ability to be enforced which is why I didn't mention it. As long as somebody is clever about making a second account to exploit these loopholes, I just don't see Staff catching on anytime soon.
