Meh, besides Decrepit Sewers and Undergrowth Ruins, the grinding isn't that bad. I like the new dungeons way better than they were b4. Especially since you have a concrete reward to work for instead of mindlessly fighting the same enemy and hoping for RNGesus. Could they do something better for the token sections? Yeah. Is it the worst thing in the game? No.

What, I really hate about the current dengeons is that they don't have any puzzles.

It kinda depends for me. I personally don't like puzzles in minecraft that much, and I didn't like the earlier puzzles either. To me, they don't add much to replay ability once you've solved then, and seem to bog down the gameplay by interrupting the action.

Though I wasn't around pre-gavel, I've seen a lot of videos of how it was, but I would like to see it for myself
(Not sure if it would be good to stay around permanently but a two week test wouldn't hurt)

They pay to host worlds, exactly. We'd have less 1.16 worlds for legacy worlds

I hate pre-Gavel. I hate nostalgia. This type of idea has been suggested before, and it won't work. In short, it would split the community and it would just cause a lot of debate over pre-Gavel and post-Gavel, and I want NONE of that.
I FUCKING hate any sort of nostalgic discussion because of the warped perception and shitty arguments that rise out of it, and how it basically turns into a circlejerk of shitting on the developer's work, I'm really sorry if I sound rude, but I have a high vendetta against this kind of stuff. A community that relies on rose-tinted goggles and a hate on the developer's current work is a dead community to me, I've seen this kind of mindset kill games, even if it wasn't justified, and I'm not going to let it happen here.

"y'know, back in the golden days..." I hate hate hate that shit so much, again, I'm really sorry if I sound like an ass, I've just become absolutely sick of it in recent years.

Pre-Gavel was very flawed, trust me. I see no mention of the unbearable lag and server crashes, that was 2013, but still.

Yeah, maybe people would enjoy Pre-Gavel... For about a week, and then they'd get bored. Another thing I don't see mentioned was just how stale pre-Gavel Wynn got. Yeah, you could level another class to 75 after already leveling your first class... But it's basically playing the exact same game, no variety, at all.

Except I don't remember too many people not liking the 3D models...? When Gavel released, I don't recall the 3D models being hated on at all, I was there on launch day.

Sorry if I sound really rant-y, I just tend to act like that whenever anything with "nostalgia" pops up.
I've been here for 4 years, and I heavily prefer current Wynn to the older versions, honestly, if you want to know more about my opinions about it, just search through my post history, because I think I have a headache now.

you forgot that if we have 150~ (sounds about right imo) players playign the legacy worlds there would be atleast 4 less gavel worlds needed

The amount of worlds depends on the amount of players. If more people like old school wynn more than post gavel, that there will be more old school wynn than post gavel servers

Simpler =/= less confusing, and it was more beginner friendly because there wasn't anything to do.

And here we see a young wild politician, already practicing making up opinions for other people on the spot.

I say yes, simply because I think it could be good to see the communities response to this. From what I've seen in the comments so far it's about a 50/50 split (or close enough, I am bad at counting) between who misses the old days and who is just immediately rejecting the idea. I played when VIP Town was a thing, and I remember everything being much simpler. Although I think it would be awesome if them map and quests were left how they were, and simply item system and dungeons or whatever were reverted to the old version, that would kind of just be a Wynn Version Mutant Hybrid thing rather than plain ol' Legacy Wynn.

So you would rather have every quest be a disconnected fetch-quest with little to no lore? How about the old, messy look of Deltas and the old pirate Island? Bosses that are just normal mobs with one spell and a lot of health? Also what about having no variety or gimmicks in items? Oh, and don't forget the bugs too like the lifesteal bug that made you invincible.

The thing is, when people say that they want the old stuff back, it sounds like they don't appreciate the CT trying to improve their game by revamping old content. People shouldn't be blinded by nostalgia. Obviously, the game is never perfect and not everyone is going to like the same new features. But instead of debating and having a valid discussion about which features work and don't work, people just want to regress to the "old days" and disregard any and all other features the CT put so much time and effort into it.

I get the feeling you don't like reading very much. I said that I would like it if the quests and the world stayed as they are currently, AKA Pre-Gavel and Corkus because the story and the world are my favorite part of Wynn. I also specifically said the Item System, and Dungeons for changes. I remember the Item System being much easier to follow and the economy was much better than it is now, if I recall correctly, or maybe I am just seeing it through rose tinted glasses. Either way, no need to be hostile towards people because their opinion is different than yours. Have a nice day!

I have to strongly disagree. I havn't met a single person on my time at Wynn who has preferred regular item textures to the current amazing ones that the modelers of the server have created for us.

Just wanted to pop in and mention that actually this kind of thing CAN work. OSRS has more players than RS3. World of Warcraft has a huge community for legacy servers even though they're illegal to run. I don't think it has to split the community. If someone wants to play in old Wynn it doesn't mean they have to hate on the current game. Obviously old Wynn had flaws, but it definitely wasn't nonstop crashing and unbearable lag towards the end as those issues got fixed.

Oh and "But it's basically playing the exact same game, no variety, at all." This still holds true for Wynn. It's the same exact thing, because that's how the server works. It's just a slightly longer road, but once you're done with it there is nothing new. (I mean you could try other builds n whatever, but it's still the same base game... same quests, same areas, same mobs, same bosses, same dungeons...)

"a hate on the developer's current work" what? The developers are doing amazing work. Where the heck did you pull this idea from??? The thing is, Wynn could have the worlds most advanced code, features and code. It doesn't mean everyone has to like it. I simply happen to heavily dislike how Wynncraft is now. That's just my personal opinion and it's fine to think either way.

Oh and just saying, old Wynn kept me around from april 2014 till Gavel while I got bored with Gavel in a few weeks time. Obviously these are all about opinion though.

New System =/= New Textures. Yes, there are textures for different items that focus on different elements. I prefer the no-element system (or at least I thought I did, it's been a while), but the textures themselves are an improvement.

After I was done with quests it just felt like the same grind (obviously, because it is). Back in old Wynn I stayed around after level cap because of the market and the community. In Gavel nobody seems to have any idea how the market works, everyone just has their own way of pricing items. It also feels insane how "good" items can cost 20-30le while mythics suddenly can go for 15+ stacks of le.
The main thing would still be the community. As I said most of my friends left so I didn't have a reason to just hang around chatting with people. That just made me leave. I guess I could go do corrupted dungeons or something, but I'm just really not into the token grind. As far as I see it there's nothing that special left.
I can't be bothered to learn this new skewed market and these new builds that will constantly keep getting buffed / nerfed.

Basically I just did all quests and after that it was like old Wynn -my friends and -any kinda working market so really I felt like there was nothing to stay for.
