    "Not another thread about this!"

Yes I know. There have already been numerous complaints about the state of balance of mythic items. However, it is, in my opinion, an important topic that should be addressed, because the balance of mythic items determines how the endgame turns out to be.

Now, awhile back, @motoki1 made a thread, well this one:
    https://forums.wynncraft.com/threads/item-researches-and-possible-problem-for-archer-mythics.181829/
This thread was talking about how archer mythics are quite weak compared to the other mythic items in terms of damage. At some point, Salted himself did actually reply to the thread, commenting this:
So, mythics aren't all supposed to be based off of damage. We get it. But that still doesn't justify how horribly unbalanced mythic items are.

Consider Inferno and Grimtrap. Right, I am comparing what people consider to be the worst mythic dagger with the best one. Now, why do people think that?
Grimtrap has immensely good buffs, great damage, and only -1/4 mana steal trade off on some. At least pre-gameplay, the buffs were weaker, and the -mana steal was a little stronger. It was still overpowered, but not as broken as it is now. You should have seen the look on my face when it got buffed:
    unnamed_2_-0.png
On top of that, grim only requires 90 strength. Impressive that such a broken item was allowed into the game.
Compare this to inferno, which has a 135 skill point requirement, -health regen, sometimes -mana regen, a much lower damage than grim, and hardly any buffs to make up for it. At this point, I might as well be comparing a massive trebuchet to a miniature catapult: there is no competition.

Now, let's talk about another mythic. I mean, this weapon is fantastic for paper nuke rage cannons, but that doesn't change the fact that it is sort of flawed.
Grandmother. Now tell me, would you want -370 ish hp regen and a weapon with a purple tag when you can get the same damage without the -hp regen on a weapon with a blue tag? Exactly. A powdered Infused Hive Bow actually SURPASSES Grandmother's damage, without the -hpr. Grandmother's problem, like Inferno, is that it is all compromise and no reward.

And that is the issue with many mythics. There are some weapons with a lot of compromise and no reward, like Idol (such a low damage and high requirement for 20+ intel bonus, which hardly matters when you already have 120 of it, and 3/4 mana), Grandmother and Inferno. On top of this, there are also many weapons with high reward and little to no compromise, examples being Thrundacrack (nice, -10% hpr, such a big compromise for the insane dps), Grimtrap and Gaia (make it a real melee wand pls).

I truly like the idea of mythic personalities, and the game has also proven that this concept can be used to great success. Mythics such as Fatal, Warp, Cataclysm (this one might be a little strong though) and Alkatraz are able to give great reward in exchange for some type of compromise. Just please, balance the mythics out for goodness sake. Thrunda should have far more -hpr than just -10% ish. Grandmother was most likely meant to be a high damage weapon in exchange for the -hpr, so actually give it high damage.

Balancing should have been done a long time ago, probably before adding mythic armours, which I will not talk about in this thread because I would spend a whole day ranting about them.

Well, I think that's all I have to say for now. Thank you for reading, and feel free to express your thoughts in the thread.

Honestly, it depends on how you look at it. I love the hpr because it maximizes my damage. Then again, not everybody likes being a 1hp paper nuke.

Let's just keep Idol out of this post... People hate on hive spear being bad- Hive spear does more than idol (w/ t6's). That puts Idol.... Holy smokes Pure isn't alone!

At this point, idk if mythics were a good idea. I don't mind having collectibles like Grian's Ocean Map or Salted's Poop, since they don't have any practical use. Mythics, however, are either so broken that it's the only way to be the best or are so useless that they might as well not exist *cough* armor *cough* Given how rare they are, idk if you could truly balance mythics so that they are worth their rarity and at the same time not arent broken or unfair, especially in pvp

Grandmother is kind of bad, if Hive bow does match grandmother's dmg with t6 powders (never seen the dmg)
However, I'm fine with it now, does good enough dmg for me (I've calculated, and grandmother in essence does a bit more than hive infused)
    would appreciate buff tho
    xd

Maybe buff the damage of grandmother, but the whole gimmick of grandmother is to activate Rage so you get more damage.

Gradma has less damage but its rage gimick the reason its better than hive bow is the same reason that spring and az are better than it but its less of a thing with grandma since arrow bomb does earth damage but ya it could use a buff I nevee said its good as strai I just said its underrated

Hive bow with 100 strength and full t6 has a slightly higher dps than grandmother with full t6.

Sorry about the links, my phone is really messed up.

Anyways, using 100 strength for both hive bow and grandmother, hive bow does a very slightly higher damage than grandmother.

I feel like that applies to archer as a whole; it's honestly in a rather bad spot right now compared to the other classes
