But in seriousness, this thread rapidly devolved from actual discussion to talking about which guilds people are in influencing their thoughts.

    five seconds later

    "better opposition"

You just played yourself there my friend

Also, 10 hours a day. I mean wtf, it's repetitive and boring to play such an unhealthy ammount of computer games, and doing wars as well, they're like the worst. Tssk

I'd like to preface this suggestion with the clarification that I have barely done any wars at all (My number of wars completed probably is still in the double digits), so... yeah.

Anyways, I'd always been a little confused with the "Locals report an army is heading to X location," since besides maybe throwing up some last-minute defenses, there really isn't anything you can do about another clan invading some land you've claimed. So what if it did have a purpose, telling Guild members to actively go to that attacked area, and defend it. Basically, how this could work is when the guild war begins, and everyone is teleported, Attacking players and Defending players would have to fight- in addition to the swarms of mobs, players would be fighting players, which would make it far more fun and engaging than just fighting regular mobs.

This would also up the difficulty and stakes on both sides, since it's trivial (if time consuming) to wipe swarms of level 50 mobs out, but against similarly-leveled and built players, the fight is more of a tossup of build choices and player skill (as much skill as wynncraft pvp offers).

I dunno, that's just my thoughts on how it could be more fun- I'm sure theres countless problems that I wasn't thinking about with adding this to the system.

The intended purpose is just to be a warning that "hey, you've got an attack incoming". Previously there just wasn't any warning and you could just be sitting there and randomly lose a territory all of a sudden, which wasn't a very popular feature.

I personally have already suggested this exact system before, but wynncraft PvP is completely broken. There would have to be an overhaul of how damage is calculated between players, and a rework of certain ID's (poison, thorns) before PvP could be even somewhat balanced.

Even then, players with max walk speed could just run around at blinding speeds and achieve invincibility, etc. The point is while in theory this would be really cool, it would take too much work to implement, and guilds aren't a top priority right now (unfortunately)

Allowing higher level defenses would let wars become something more than just a waste of time, without having to change any existing items or ID's

Some people here are forgetting that guilds were meant to be endgame content, the whole "but what about the newcomers" can only be justified to a certain extent.
Compared to pretty much every game I've played that has some kind of guild/territory competition (take Black Desert) it's already incredibly easy to become involved on Wynn, which obviously is fair given that it's a much smaller game. But getting involved should still take some effort which it definitely doesn't now, a top guild could just move all of their active players into a freshly made guild and still be just as successful in no time.
Guild level isn't rewarding in any way because the base slots are enough to house a full war team and the amount of territories on the map limits the general level of competition by default, unless what y'all strive for is every guild owning no more than 2 territories. @hora6112/gaidg's suggestion isn't gonna magically fix all of that, it'd take a full rework of the current system, but I believe that it's a decent first step towards making wars & guild activity rewarding.

The lack of endgame content was the reason I left, guild wars are so unsatisfying to participate in. If this was added I would most likely come back.

Despite wars being an endgame feature for players, there will always be players who work better in wars compared to others. For example, players who have access to scrolls, crafted potions, and even some mythics, will do better in general while warring compared to a new endgame player. In addition, I know wars are pretty much end-game stuff in a way right now, but you still see on occasions people of a lower level contributing in wars since they are able to one-shot lv 50 mobs or just contribute for fun, playing with friends. In general, I think personal builds are also breaking wars, as so with some classes thriving better such as the archer class. Maybe if players had the option to choose from pre-made builds for classes for everyone, it would be beneficial and make warring a bit fairer?

Guild Wars -> It's a war of many people between guilds but why are we seeing people solo-ing wars? It should be a combined group effort, not just one person solo-ing and recapturing territories which are defended with 1k. Seriously, has anyone ever felt the pain of SOLO retaking claims defended with 1k Bobs just because their other guildmates are busy or just can't be bothered? I don't want to be a loner retaking claims. I don't want to waste 10 minutes recapturing territories just because I'm warring by myself and fulfilling my role as a captain. I don't want to war in a game where many people go on it every day and could potentially help. Attacking should include people, not a person. It is a MMORPG (Mass Multiplayer Online), not a solo-1k-bobs-for-guild-xp-or-to-drain.

These are just my personal opinions on the current warring system. This system really does need a major rework in some aspects and it's been quite a few years. I hope to see some good stuff in the future.
