I agree with the general idea but some development would be nice. Rather than having a "I want this" and leaving it at that, telling us exactly how it should be implemented, why it should be implemented, what it can look like and so forth would benefit the thread greatly.

 

Not quite sure what's more to say in the op, just hide the messages completely, as simple as that.

 

True.. but for the purpose of just having it look like something worth implementing you know, most people tend to just pass off these suggestions as complaints or shitposts

 

Where exactly do you see the "complain" or the "shitpost" in this? Looks pretty clear to me, even the others who commented got it.

I feel like if this is the case you don't really want them ignored in the first place. And yet, given the fact that this feature does exist as a free optional add-on for Xenforo, there's not much of a reason to not have it for those who want it.
