Wyverns are super cool and all, but I've got an idea that would make them cooler, and make them easier to fly around with. Picture this: your heading through the Canyon of the Lost on a wyvern, trying to get somewhere fast (maybe your doing a loot run or something) and you just barely clip the side of a mountain. You lose all your momentum, your wyvern starts descending, and it's all in all just really annoying. So I have a better idea. My idea is that if your just about to hit the edge of a structure, then instead of crashing into it, your wyvern will quickly swerve around it, keeping your momentum. It would work the same if your crashing into the bottom of something or the top, your wyvern could duck down or rise up rapidly to avoid it. you would still hit something if you flew into it dead-on though.

Or you could learn to avoid obstacles better? Why implement an entire navigation assistance system and take away some of the skill that goes into riding a wyvern through busy airspace?

Ordinarily I'm all for player convenience but this seems like more of a problem that you have to get personally better at. Wyverns have exceptional freedom of movement that other mounts don't have so it's more than reasonable to take away the player's momentum if they manage to crash into something. The way you describe this change reminds me of the smart steering setting in newer Mario Kart games, and that's not a good thing. Not only that, but it might even make it more annoying to crash into things, because the angle you swerve could take you off guard just as badly as actually crashing.
