Game Design Hoppers Everywhere, Not A Fan

But they have NPCs outside of quests, and anyway, maybe each dungeon could havea quest attached? Maybe they could make a dungeon give more xp the first time through.

 

Well how it works is after you give the items to the npc hopper it updates your quest book and allows you to go past the region that is blocking you. With dungeons not being quests it is hard to do that.

 

Why not just make the redstone have an item sorter that will reject any other items but the tokens, but rather than get rid of them, have them dispence the items back to you from a dropper nearby?

 

This allows for exchanging untradable items and quest items, so we can't do this.

 

You can't drop quest items, and dropping an untradable item in would just place it back on the ground so only the person thst threw it in the hopper could pick it up.

 

Sadly when the redstone returns it, it would still allow anyone to pick it up. Once it's entered a hopper, it doesn't care who the original owner is.

 

hmmm. Ok, how about you create an oasis of calm around the hopper (like you do with puzzles), so that you can see and line up the throw (and switch from your weapon to the tokens taking just a little time to not screw up), but you inflict massive poisoning damage when you come in range of the hopper, so you have to do it quickly and cleanly.
Or make the throw itself difficult by limiting your possible angle. Make hitting the hopper into a sports shot at an angle, make it so you have to bounce it off the side to get it to go in because of something blocking your only direct shot.
Hey, I just invented a hopper based sport simulation more annoying than parkour!

I'm only half joking, you could place a hopper down the side of a pit, and make it so you had to get the right bounce to go in...

 

Lost my horse several days ago. Lost my Legendary spear just now.
These hoppers are a plague.
I'm staying far away from dungeons from this point on. They're far too dangerous.

 

Tbh i am fine with most hoppers.. idk usually you can manage to put the items in fast enough... however there is one dungeon thats anoying af è_____é i find the hopper part in the ice dungeon where you need to put 40tokens inside more anoying than any boss mob in game ;-; something really needs to be done about that hopper because the way it is now the mobs push you away constantly ._.
