Problem i have with this is i dont mind other people having me on their friend list, but i dont want to have to add them back, but i dont want them to not be able to still have me on theirs. honestly dont see why you would need to approve it, i have no issue with people knowing what world im on.

 

I mean, you might have no issue with that, but many people do. Even I experienced it and I'm not really "Wynn Famous" and it wasn't pleasant as I had no interest in talking to these people, yet they were following me or bothering me every time I logged in. If someone wants to know what world you're on, they can just use the /find command - which is a little bit more effort than just pressing TAB, but nothing terrible.

I guess it's convenient for you if you don't mind people adding you without your approval and the addition of this system would only be of nuisance to you, but I think for the majority it would be preferable. And you said it yourself, you don't want these people on your friend list, so you most likely don't want to be friends with them. But then why bother with it being "half-assed" one-way "friendship"? It might even give some people false ideas. I know for sure it gave me false ideas when I was new/new-ish. Back when HippieCrafting was still making Wynn videos, I added him to my friend list not knowing how the system really worked, and immediately saw him in my friend list online, so I thought he accepted my friend request and I immediately wanted to be friends with him - not knowing he probably didn't even notice me adding him lol.

And I also added somewhere in this thread that people like Admins, Moderators, Youtubers could just have friend requests turned off if it bothers them. And I think that would work for you if you wouldn't want your "pending requests" cluttered. And if you have no interest in friending people back, you wouldn't miss out by having requests completely blocked either. And as I mentioned earlier. People could still find you via /find which is just a tiny bit more effort.

I know you just did it, but I also understand how it feels to be the only one bumping you're thread.

 

I'd write some essay on why this should be implemented (because it most certainly should be), but this is such a straightforward and noncontroversial ( ) topic that there's not really much to say . . . while the current system is useful for some people, those people represent a very small minority (once again, I'd like to call attention to the of players that agree with this).

Bump! There are people I've friended that I have no idea if they friended me back. Feels weird if like I go up to them and am like "hey ___" seeing them after that one party we were in, and they were like "who?" That hasn't happened yet but I'm dreading it o__o
