Currently, emerald merchants (and LE merchants), will not exchange 64E or 64EB if your inventory is full. This is the message you will get if you try to do this:

However, even though your inventory is full, the stack of emeralds you are trading in is going to be replaced by a single block of emerald anyways, so having a full inventory shouldn't affect this.

You aren't "buying" something that will take up another slot, you are trading something in that will take up the same slot, or even being placed in a stack.

I get slightly annoyed by this too, I just drop a potion or something before doing it. But having this feature added would be pretty good, nice suggestion.

The same thing happens with quest item space and when you are creating new items like tinkering for example. I think its a thing that should be seen as a bug and I hope it gets fixed one day. I noticed that before and I agree with it, its annoying. :)

I believe that shops are controlled by plug-ins, not command blocks.

Most of the game is controlled by plugins, as said above.

Really just believe cutscenes and sea skipper are controlled by command blocks along with a few other things. Pretty dumb if you ask me, plugins are much faster and more efficient long term.
