Game Design Early Game Weapon Issues (1-30)

Crackshot's amazing for early-game archer because with a little bit of strength you can consistently two-shot the Water I guardians which is insane for speedgrinding early-game, and it's not too bad for spells either (only downside being that it's super slow so spells aren't that fast)

i also abuse relics early-game since they seem to give so much better xp than all other grinding spots (except haunted mask maybe, didn't know about it while running archer)

well sure, but I don't think you should get punished for picking a fire assassin or an earth/air archer for example
most new players will just use whatever has the dmg of their skill points anyways, i dont think a lot of them will know that mana regen and steal is water for example
also now we're almost done with every endgame weapons/armour so

 

yeah relics are really OP, I got my ninja class from lvl15 to around 50 in only a day or so

Second, as a person playing as an earth-air assassin, I can confirm that there are basically NO earth-air items AT ALL until you reach endgame, which is annoying as fuck

The first one has no natural earth damage, and the second and third are both dungeon AND ENDGAME items, and the third and first are both considered earth-air by you solely because they give damage boosts for it, and has a strength requirement in the case of the first. By that logic, Cataclysm is a thunder air weapon. Also, name a single earth-air dagger until level 70. ALSO, my assassin is level 61, and I can't use ANY of those options.

 

Basically i think your thread should focus about the problem of having too many of the same "type" (dont wanna say build because builds are mainly endgames. But players do like have a certain type of elements combination regardless the level). This problem could be solved if the game had more diversity when it comes to the combos of items. All those not-common types\builds like earth-air for example, they are only not common because the main focus of the items in the game doesn't supporte this type of elements combo. So yea, i do think more items should be added to supporte not common builds\types.

Add a pool maybe? Generalize the issue?

 

Selvut intended many dual-element items to require powders to work. If you want examples I can give many.
Salticidae is not an endgame weapon, and neither is Wall Breaker (though that's a bit more debatable).

I totally agree that there should be more, but "basically NO earth-air items AT ALL..." is a false statement.


And to be honest, you don't need an earth-air dagger to have an earth-air build. The term "earth-air build" hardly matters when compared to the stats you want. Water-Fire, for example, can be associated with high amounts of both types of regen (i.e. Sano's Care) or high amounts of both types of lifesteal (i.e. Soulflare). If I made a progressive earth-air build, I'd probably just take Yahya's Nail Clipper --> Stabsand --> Reaper of Soul --> Wall Breaker --> endgame stuff.
