Since gathering mini quests were added, levelling up gathering has become less boring. It's still slow and monotonous, but it can actually be refreshing to do some slower things in game sometimes.
Yet there is still a problem... Crafting.
Crafting is also a slow process- but there's no fun in the slightest. No moving. No clicking. Nothing. Literally just staring at a screen and waiting for the box to be filled with crafted items before emptying them out and doing it again.

I'll outline the problems I believe crafting has:

    1: It's slow and boring.

2: It takes an absurd amount of ingredients after a while.

3: No-one actually crafts high level gear unless there's a x2 speed prof bomb.

    My solutions:

1: Remove prof speed bombs entirely.
It's the same scenario we had years ago with people only completing quests with x2/x3 xp. So remove the bombs and to make up for it - the materials required should be lowered.
(examples: If I was crafting a scroll)
    1-10 = 1 oil, 1 paper
    11-20, 21-30, 31-40 = 2 oil, 2 paper
    41-50, 51-60, 61-70 = 3 oil, 3 paper
    71-80, 81-90, 91-100 = 4 oil, 4 paper
    100+ = 5 oil, 5 paper

2: Speed up the time it takes to craft.
This sort of links back to removing prof speed bombs, but it also links to how tedious it is in general. Why take 5 seconds to craft an item?
Solution- Crafting now takes 3 seconds.

3: Increase the drop rates of ingredients OR have specific mobs (maybe the star mobs?) which drop increased amounts of T0 ingredients only.
This would mean that you wouldn't have to spend hours and hours grinding ingredients with totems and high LB gear, just to get a few levels worth of crafting levelled up.

Final note: I understand that it isn't meant to be easy to level up, but it's so unbelievably tedious and dull, that very few people bother doing it - and almost no-one would be sane enough to do it more than once.
The current system also discourages Craftsman playthroughs, which I think could actually be a really fun idea if it wasn't so boring to grind everything.

Anyway, hope you are all well :)

I don't think a gobal ingredient drop rate would be good. It'd clutter things up for a playthrough without professions and people grinding mostly just care about drop rates from the mobs they grind from.
I like the other option more but we already have specific mobs which drop increased amounts of T0 ingredients. The main ones I can think of rn are the Golliers with Gollier iron. The Royal bugs with royal bugs blood and the unmeltable ice from mobs around the frozen heights being such examples.

Some sort of indication on where to find these mobs ingame would be very welcome though and there have been some times, especially in the earlier levels, where I was having alot of trouble finding good mobs for the ingredients. Just having more of those spots would be welcome to me as well.

Other than that part I agree with what you're saying here.

Problem is that people just moved to grinding mobs, then dungeons. There's nowhere to move to for crafting and prof bombs probably make up quite a bit of Wynncraft's income.
