Neutral damage builds are always usable, but are generally somewhat less effective, since you get no double-boost from any of your skill points and often the effects are very general and not related to combat, such as XP Bonus. You get more boosts from diverging into a skill build, and while that may turn you weak towards certain enemies, this only encourages teamwork and skill. You can still defeat most enemies even if they resist your main elements if you're skilled enough, but it's easier if you diverge into multiple elements or get teamwork.

 

Uhm, quests give 1-3 LE each. I dont see your point.

Are you speaking to the old VIP town's scam merchant? because a reset scroll costs 1LE, and with the gavel update that becomes barely anything.

 

Mages have three elemental spells
Meteor-fire and earth
Ice snake-water
Teleport-thunder
Ice snake and teleport aren't any good as offensive spells so that leaves the mage to earth and fire damage.

Have u fought Amadel yet? Cause if you can't beat CoW u definitely can't beat Amadel. He has max elemental resistance (I think?) on all elements so. And seriously just get a Neutral Wand or something. Diablo can also do the trick quite easily.

CoW has a really dumb AI, i soloed him when i was 68 and ... cmon , it was really easy
Make a party if u can't kill him solo :)

It's a terrible idea to change your skill points around to simply use an item. It's advised to stick to 1 - 2 Elements, so you'll have an easier time unlocking the weapons and armour related to that element. If you find an element isn't useful against a boss, try using a neutral weapon or a weapon that you can use with the correct element. It sacrifices some of your main damage, but it allows you to damage what you're fighting. Also, you shouldn't constantly switch between different elemental weapons and armour. This is because (as you've stated) you'll most likely spend a small fortune resetting your build to fit the weapon(s) and armour.

A good weapon you could use against bosses is the Relic Weapons. They have all the elemental damage, and have no skill requirement, so may be a good choice if you're lost with what weapon to use.

No, Amadel resists all elements by 180. That's far from complete nullification.

 

I use the relic spear as a side weapon and I'm level 88. The relic spear is very good against most of the hive monsters I've fought so far. I'm pretty sure I even used the relic spear to kill CoW, though I might be wrong

I was able to solo the CoW first try at level 69 using the relic wand, so, yeah, that point goes out the window for you...
