Dungeons Concept Idea: Sound Battle

Hey! So I know I said I would not be posting anything new for a few days, but I have a really good idea. Plus I have finals coming up in a few days and I need to let off some steam.

So I had this idea a while back, and I wanted to make it. My knowledge of command blocks was too limited at the time, so I did not end up doing it. Later I saw someone else do a similar thing, so I know it is possible.

Before I fully begin, this is just a concept, so don't expect specifics, and it is highly command block heavy.

Now! I know knew dungeons have been confirmed for Gavel, but we have not been told what. So I am here with a concept not for the dungeon itself, but for the boss fight. This would be best in a sound-oriented dungeon, but could fit with a multitude of things.

So, to help demonstrate the concept, I am going to use the song centuries by Fall Out Boy (A song I know very well). So I have not actually explained what this is yet, and that's because I want you to have all the background knowledge first.

Now that you have everything, here we go!

So this is basicly a boss battle, but the battle is led by a song. Now Wynncraft can do this with a song that the content team makes themselves, but I am going to use centuries for my example (as I said).

So you enter the boss room, and the boss is kind of standing in the back, head position pointed at the floor. The song starts.

As the little intro du-du-dus play out the boss slowly lifts his head. He can not be hurt during this time.

The lyrics start. The chorus part is just normal boss fight as you would expect. You spam your weapon, he chases you around, excetera.

So now the first verse starts.

Verse 1 starts

Mummified my teenage dreams
No, it's nothing wrong with me
The kids are all wrong
The story's all off
Heavy metal broke my heart

During line 1 of this phase it summons some mummy minions.

When it says "the kids are all wrong, the stories all off" perhaps summon in some baby villagers that attack the player, but do 0 damage. Basically just a neusense...

Last line when it says Heavy metal broke my *thump thump* heart, perhaps there could be a heart on the floor of the arena, and it thumps. And when it thumps you need to jump or you take earth damage? (earth cuz metal)

Back to chorus...

Verse 2 starts

Come on, come on and let me in
The bruises on your thighs like my fingerprints
And this is supposed to match
The darkness that you felt
I never meant for you to fix yourself

Lines 2 causes everyone except for the boss to take damage (minions also take damage)

Line 4 causes the player(s) to get a small blindness effect

Line 5 causes the boss and any minions still alive to heal.
For this perhaps the boss should have no normal health regen (the 10 second thing most mobs in Wynncraft have) and only heal during this phase?

Back to chorus...

Verse 3 starts

And I can't stop 'til the whole world knows my name
'Cause I was only born inside my dreams
Until you die for me, as long as there's a light, my shadow's over you

So for the first 2 lines the boss speeds up with the music.

Line 4 makes you take a little bit of nausea (to work with the line)

Lines 5-6 makes a bunch of pink particle effects appear around the arena, which explode on line 7/

The song goes back to chorus.

The the hook comes.

We've been here forever
And here's the frozen proof
I could scream forever
We are the poisoned youth

Now this is what I think would happen here. The boss stops moving, and the player(s) become super slow (like time has almost stopped)

Red particle effects appear around the boss, and at the line "poisoned youth" he shoots a giant beam at you. Since you are slow it is hard to avoid, bit you can dodge it if you do it just right. If you get hit, you take damage and get poison.

The it goes back to chorus.

So thats just how I would do it for this particular song. Since the song it short, I would have the song loop again (not including the head raising intro) until either the player(s) or the boss dies.

Here are some other suggestion about what could happen:

If the song of choice slows down, make everything in the room slow

If the song speeds up really fast, make the boss dash forward at the player a few times, hitting the player if they pass them.

If the song starts going erreticly, make the boss teleport around the room shortly.

If the song is SUPER long, make the boss inta-kill the player (timed boss fight)

Shoot Fireballs

Statues effects

Poison

Charged attack

Charge/ dash

Projectile

Heal

You, sir, have a good taste in music. I love that song, and Fall Out Boy in general.

(However, I'm a bigger fan of their older songs- Infinity on High and Take This To Your Grave were great albums)

Ye. This is a good idea (really in depth and interesting [in a good way]) but some people (like me) don't offer play with sound on. (And my connection is usually terrible.)

I love the albums save rock and roll and American beauty, American psycho.

So yeah, that's why I chose this song.

Yeah, lag once again would be a problem.

But as for not playing with sound, just a sign saying have sound on for this next part would probably be fine
