Classes: The Soldier (925+ Supporters) - Updated To 1.1.4 Stats!

Warrior is still good. I think that this will add far more diversity, like an all-rounder type of class, that is very difficult to play.

I honestly think it would be a great addition. The spells could be nerfed a bit, but otherwise it looks amazing.

 

In what way do they need to be nerfed? Compare them to the spells of the other classes, and think over your response to see if you really think a nerf is necessary.

 

I guess you're right. The damage is 40% lower than warrior, and after looking over the other classes and reviewing this one, it seems fine the way it is.

 

I figured as much.

The spells may be rather powerful, and overall cheap, but they certainly do not start strong, with Slash costing more mana than all other starting spells, excluding Heal, Strafe costing 6 mana initially...

Every spell, excepting Succor, forces you to move whether you intend to or not, meaning that acute awareness of your surroundings is completely necessary to fight effectively.

Slash only has equal power to Spin Attack fully upgraded, Strafe is hardly stronger than Ice Snake with what little damage it deals naturally, despite the damage boost to other attacks it gives, and can't be spammed in quick succession.

Strike might have a maximum of 400% damage, but that's only if every part of the spell connects. Due to the knockback of the shoulder strike, it's most likely to only inflict 350%, and you only get damage -reduction- during the strike, not immunity.

Succor might have a maximum of 500% damage, but hitting as many hits as is necessary to achieve those totals is extremely unlikely against any enemy.

I tried very hard to put in those checks and balances, but seeing how other people react to them does give valuable insight as to whether they need to be adjusted or not.

 

Why can't you try to implement this idea into the game yourself? You already have tons of support and the suggestion is great. I mean, you're one of the senior GMs, right?

A Harder Assassin???

 

Assassin's spells focus on corralling enemies by way of attacking them and layering on quick hits as fast as possible. This class is more focused on kiting and mobility, as enforced by 3/4 of their spells forcing you to move and their 80% defense rating. It has higher range but lower overall damage. Fittingly enough, Assassin's spells are more thunder-based; both Spin and Multihits deal thunder damage, and Thunder most closely matches their basic abilities...and Soldier's spells are more air-based; both Slash and Strike inflict air damage and the class's base abilities encourage supreme mobility. Funny how that works.
