Classes: The Soldier (925+ Supporters) - Updated To 1.1.4 Stats!

I was actually talking about the shockwaves created by strafe.

 

Shockwaves? I think you misunderstand. Only the first jump creates the shockwave, and that one is a blanket radius rather than a flat one-block ring, due to its weakness and the fact that you only get the debuffs for one second.

 

Ok, the name shockwave made me think it was an actual wave.

I like this idea, though I feel like the final ability for the Soldier should be a bit more unique, as it is the soldier's final skill and it should be somewhat of an outgoing, unique skill.

Other than that, this is one of the few class ideas I'd love to see implemented into the game. +1 SUPPORT

 

The major thing I dislike about this class is how similar it is to warrior. Every class suggestion these days seems like a mix of assassin and warrior.

 

Nope? This class is far from beeing similar to warrior.

 

I would not like to see this class ingame. Its name and spells is very much similar to the Warrior and Assassin.
I would definately vote this up if it had another name and some of the spells had to be changed.

EDIT: For the author: You should try and suggest something like a Cleric / Priest or anything along those lines.

 

Which spells are too similar? Please describe the ways you think they are too close. If it really is an issue, I can fix it, but at the moment I simply do not see what you mean.

 

Why does no one respond to these? I am honestly trying to get feedback and I only get really general "It's too much like other classes."

Just ignore them. People that call this class a Copy of another class havent been reading the full Text.

 

Still, should they have valid points, I would want to edit the class. Anything to make it better, yes?

 

So, I am one of the dumb guys who replied to your thread.
Allow me to elaborate what went through my head when I earlier wrote what I wrote. After reading the "Soldier's" spells through again I can't really say they are similar with the assassins or warriors. Though I feel like some of these spells are really advanced. One of those advanced spells would be strafe:
Have the option to use abilities while performing strafe, at later levels give enemies big debuffs, sounds really op in my ears.

The other thing I don't like about it is, that it's name is Soldier. When someone says soldier, I think of a Warrior, a Knight, basically a melee person. It would take the Warriors place, if it was added into the game, due to the fact that it is new, it is advanced, it is unbalanced and the name is similar.

The initial shockwave only deals 50% damage. Even with a super fast weapon giving a high spell multiplier, that is not much, and the debuffs only last for a second. Mage's Teleport gives stronger debuffs. And, you can use abilities during all other movement spells(except for Teleport, since it is instant), so I do not quite see how that could be unbalanced.

As for the name, that is an issue we have been deliberating over for a long while. I do not want to simply revert to Axeman, as it is such a generic name, and we have not found a fitting replacement.

 

Love the idea, and I hate to say this, but only one thing is bad: The items.

There would have to be hundreds of items made, which I can guarantee is a pain to input.
