    my guy
if you have 2 hive items
and two classes that've done the hive
its pretty simple to put two and two together
again, idk exactly how the mods do it, but i just assumed its not very difficult to track a players items. of course id like for someone to confirm this. anyway, again, jsut check up on players once in a while after they've gotten a hive item refund (like once per week or two or smth idk) and if they have more hive items than they should, ban :/
ofc i suppose you could drop ur item to ur friend and then get another so between the two of you the net gain is one but stil...
    ________________________________
    what?
you lose ur hive item, you get one refund per class
    pretty fucking simple huh
say 500 people asked for refunds (doubt there will be that many)
say it takes 5 mintues to check each person
    5x500=2500
say you have 5 mods (probably more) to check up on the items
    2500/5=500
    500/30=~16
so each mod will have to spend about 15 mintues per day to check for anomallies
also they shouldnt have to check the same people more than twice at most
    pretty simple huh

Alright but this causes them to look through the code... again...
This has been said earlier this Thad on what they have to do. They cannot give out the code for reasons that I do not know.

But.. boll is an actual word. And it depends on the context. I only point out grammar when other people do it and they have terrible grammar themselves.

This isn't going to happen. No one is going to go scouring through the inventory of every person that ever had a hive item. That's not acceptable. You're seriously asking us to abuse our powers and to look into everyone's inventory? No. We won't do that. We won't even consider it.

What's that "30" number from? Never mind. We shouldn't have to check anyone even once, but, due to so many people being dishonest, we'd have to check everyone every single day from the first day on. Forever. Too many people try to see how much that they can get away with. Hence, the no-refund policy.

And, we're back to where we were from the start. The no-refund policy is in place because too many people cheated, and too many people tried to cheat, when we refunded in-game items.
    End of story.
If you have nothing new to add, this has gone on for long enough. You won't accept why the policy is in place. You won't accept that we have no viable options for now. You won't accept that we can't "just change the code", because it's not that simple. What's left? We aren't changing the policy right now. We are volunteers, and we aren't going to chase down every piece of any untradeable item, Hive items included, because that would be a 24/365 job. So, no. It's not going to change right now.

    um, no?
its not abuse of power if the people are aware and accept the conditions of the refund.
    30 days in a month
    um again, no?
why would you have to check everyday? what would change in the span of one day? how does that make any sense at all? if they get a refund for say a gaea hewn, you check up one week later, if they have something other than that or another hive item, then just ban. if you check every single day, then thats just a waste of time.
if they cheat, ban them. how do you know people are cheating if you dont know who is cheating? somebody just says "oh theres lots of cheaters" and you just say right guess we gotta do no refund policy then.
except (what im saying at least) hive items are the only items that really matter cuz their the ones that you spend tens of hours getting
and no it'd be more like 0.4/365 job if my math is right (which im guessing is fairly accurate considering you didn't mention anything except the 30)

Honestly, last time the refund policy existed it was abused, and that was on a much smaller community. It would be abused again and catching cheaters is harder than you think. I can already think of a few unique ways to abuse this to make items/money. There is really no way I could see this being added. Ever.

Blank, and everyone else interested, the source of players losing items due to skill point glitches should be resolved, thankfully. Because this was the main reason for this thread, I believe that this thread has no further purpose (I hope!). Still, I'm leaving the thread open, for now. I hope that the underlying issue is truly resolved.

As to how the issue got fixed so suddenly, I learned, basically, that jp found the error while checking the code, specifically for the sp error, but the issue wasn't staring anyone in the face. In other words, it appears to have been pretty subtle. At least, that's my understanding of it. In any event, jp found it, and fixed it.
    -Peace

There’s simply nothing that can be done about it that wouldn’t cause more harm than good. It would be impossible to refund everybody anyway due to Moe’s reasons and that too many people were affected. I’m sorry about what happened, and yes it never should have happened in the first place, but at least they fixed it and now we won’t have to worry about losing items anymore (except when we accidentally press Q).
