if you've ever used a very fast or super fast attack speed, it's extremely clear that the swinging animation does not match up with the actual possible attack speed of the weapon

due to that being the case, i propose this:
very fast: mining fatigue II (formerly no mining fatigue/haste)
super fast: no mining fatigue/haste (formerly haste II)

these were what i tested with, and they seemed to match best with the actual attack speed

it's mostly a QoL change, but it'll be nice for players who don't know the actual values of each speed, as it'll give them a better estimate as to the actual speed of their item. it's also just... a lot more logical. it doesn't make sense to have a swinging animation much faster than the actual attack speed of a weapon

    thanks

So they don't actually use Mining Fatigue/Haste to simulate attack speeds, then? In which case, what's the whole attack speed discrepancy that the IMs have mentioned actually about?

They do, but the mining fatigue/haste levels aren't correct, and "it's extremely clear that the swinging animation does not match up with the actual possible attack speed of the weapon."
