Game Design Buffs And Nerfs

Okay. I like it, buuuuuuuuuuuuuut.
Think about what happened if you buffed other items that were obsolete? People would start using them more, yes? But it doesn't stop the economic race to the items that are still really 'OP'.
Think about it, the term OP is not relative in this situation, because if something is too strong for its level, it's OP. Now if everything is too strong for its level EVERYTHING is OP.
So, in the instance that you buff the god-forsaken pure or some other piece of virtual trash, people are still gonna rush for the items that are OP, as the buffing of the other item didn't change the power state of those OP items. Now, if you want to balance everything out, you have to buff every item to the state of the OP ones, causing the game to become much easier, and breaking the economy at the same time. Now, to counteract this issue, you could buff every single mob. Seems easy huh. The real answer is quite difficult because if you wanted to nerf items, but still not piss off players, it would mean a lot of very small nerfs, and very small buffs. This in itself is a lot of work, and honestly, give the content team a break, like really cmon. If something is OP, it needs to be fixed, but who said choosing either or is a good idea, you really need to find a balance between nerfs and buffs. For instance, every time a good item is nerfed, a bad item is buffed. Because in reality, and I know I'm dragging on, but we have 3 options:

1: nerf shit, game gets hard af.
2: do some small nerfs, do some small buffs, content team is doing to much shit
3: buff shit, game so easy, economy collapses.

Well i suppise its general suggestions if you want to suggest item names.. be sure to come up with balanced ids that fit to their names though otherwise you ll get your butt kicked there for no detail .-. Or since its your work you can also put it into the your work section i guess eventhough that probably does t fulfil your purpose just as nicely :p

 

I do not consider Mythics when making my items, and Salted does not consider any other items when making Mythics. He may consider other item "themes" when making them so as to create synergies, but they're unrelated.

Because, unlike how you've been going on about, this item was a reward from the Hide & Seek. He didn't win an item-naming contest, this was just an item he came up with and I put into reality. I had no input on the name, only the stats. If you'd checked the results, you'd have known that.

 

Disn't know winner of Hide and Seek contest could get item submission.

Tbh just suggesting a name isnt the real work behind items. You may come up with good names but even if you did that does t mean that wynn ids fit to it. Balancing and makings the items ids original is what seems the hardest work to me .-. Also can you leave out german translations? ;-; idk why but i at least find it weird to see my own language in mc .-.

 

well.... this isn't about you, now is it? There are also names in french and slavic languages, and you don't see people get offended or wanting to delete thoose items. Also I was challanged to suggest 700 names that all have something to do with fire. And now you're telling me I have to make id's for ALL of them?
