Do you have anything to say about my comment about old Wynn being extremely grindy?

 

Yes, I know a lot of you don't seem to like what I'm saying. And you probably think I'm an idiot XD. But whilst, the old Wynn was very grindy I just loved the quests so much. Enzan's brother, King's recruit, thieving rodents and bob's tomb and the witch one, have all remained pretty much unchanged. I don't see any reason to remove the LOTR quest, (based on the Novel I have read twice), to make room for a new rubbishy quest. Whilst the old Wynn was pretty grindy and maybe the quests weren't the most complex, they were simple and fun. What's the priosner doing in Ragini now eh?

NO.
The gameplay is bad, the lore doesnt exist and the references are annoying
And the plot. Oh the plot. It’s
”Ooh magic clock is cursed, go to other person with it it won’t corrupt you like it did me”
”Person #1 is stupid, just go burn it in clearly mount doom”
”Hello welcome to mount doom, and uh you need my help to throw a thing. Nevermind the fifty trillon times you dropped an item in a hopper, that didn’t happen.”

Uhh thieving rodents was removed and replaced
Also the quests were mostly ”go to place a, kill b, talk to c”
New wynn quests have unique bosses, complex puzzles, fun gimmics/areas, cutscenes, and good lore.

And if you like walking so much, why don’t you try walking outside a quest? Why do you have to do it IN a quest?

 

I mean Ive been playing Wynn since pre gavel and I never found walking 10 miles was very fun.

 

XD, it's more like 2 miles than 10. I enjoy it if you get to kill mobs on the way. And remember you're not the one walking, your character is. It's only time XD

Why are you lot here making snarky and mean comments? I'm trying to be very nice to you lot and be friendly, and you all just put me down. I've a half mind to delete this entire thread, as it did not go the way I wanted. With everyone putting me down, not liking my posts (which I thought were constructive) and just plain giving me grief.

Well you didn’t change much of anything from the original post 10 months ago and you keep making the same argument without really addressing everyone else.

Look, you can enjoy the quest, but that’s not what people are talking about. If you’re trying to convince others that this should be added, you need to be more objective about this. Yes, enjoyment is subjective, but only to an extent. What’s important that if people still disagree with you, they can at least see where you are coming from.

All I can tell so far is that you really like LotR and long, disconnected fetch quests. That’s not really an argument for implementing this old quest, especially when most of the people here disagree with your idea of good quests. Plus you’re not addressing other problems such as there being too many quests in the 1-20 range, and what will happen to the quest that replaced it?

 

tbh i don’t mind the quest lord of the clock it was intresting and i would prefer a rework to it but i don’t really care that much, there are some quests that i really care about like the mushroom man but i won’t go as far to make a thread about “please bring it back” and if i really want it to be back i would rather make a new quest similar to it and request to add it in the game or join the GM and make a quest similar to it (i’m not sure if this is possible).
Don’t ask for something impossible like what your doing.
Ex: Bring back my items that i lost to a hopper.

Sorry if i was being rude, but i was mainly saying this because 'bring back lotr' threads are kinda overdone. It's not as bad as 'add housing' threads, but it's pretty up there. You are entitled to your opinion, and I shouldn't have attacked you as much as i did. Sorry!

Hate to break it to you but if you have an unpopular opinion, you can't exactly expect everyone to be 100% respectful and praiseworthy of your opinion. Just because your post is constructive does not mean people will like it. For example, writing a detailed, well-written essay on why apples should be considered a vegetable rather than a fruit doesn't mean that you won't be met with the vast majority of people who think it should still be a fruit.

Your post does not change the fact that the quest was, compared to the newer quests released, flawed in terms of lore, design, and mechanics. Sure, it was neat to have back when Wynn was the only province and the quests were few and far between, but now where we have 3 provinces, WAY more high quality quests, and a whole bunch of lore and gameplay updates, Lord of the Clock is just not necessary or relevant to Wynncraft anymore.

I also noticed you claim the newer quests are "rubbish", and while what makes a good quest is subjective, it seems to me that more people would enjoy a well-written, interesting, relevant, and unique quest experience rather than a fetch quest with a LotR reference that some people (such as myself) may not entirely understand.

Overall, I don't exactly see why you are pushing this so hard. If you find it fun to walk around and do fetch quests, just find the discoveries or do the miniquests once 1.18 comes out. If you enjoy LotR, read the books or watch the movies again, nothing is stopping you from doing that. Lord of the Clock served its purpose, but it is not worth the time and effort to add it back when much more interesting and relevant quests can be made in its place.

 

Lore is what makes Wynn Wynn. If all you wanna do is walk around, then do that. kill mobs, whatever. But Lore is what makes Wynn unique, it gives it volume. Honestly, some parts of the Wynn lore have made me feel emotions. I would prefer if we stick to the Lore-rich story.

 

Quests like enzan's brother and the old king's recruit really aren't that good. You just walk from one place to another. I think you just like them because of nostalgia.

 

Lord of the Clock should only be added back in if it had a serious rework. Boring fetch quests are trash content meant for low-quality mmorpgs (unless you want Wynncraft to be like that), and I'm pretty sure most of the people here will agree with that statement.

 

Heh I remember doing this quest as a level 98 since I forgot too do it and I ended up loving it, perhaps it can be brought back as a side quest like ??? or the gavel clock shenanigan. (or like the millions of quest in-between lv 3 and 18)

Maybe you should come up with something better than "quests are rubbish" which I don't get since the old quests were just doing more of the same you were already doing.

 

Thats one problem, too many quests for those levels.
