c-c-c-combo breaker. because i wanna bring something up.

as i said earlier in the thread...well, actually, lemme elaborate on a way to do this that's mojang-friendly and whose development time would only really take as long as the models themselves take.

step 1: tie each armor model to an armor piece's durability. diamond works best for this. if you don't understand this step, you're doing something wrong.
step 2: set it up to load all the models, as with the weapon skins, when the resource pack is loaded. sure, this may increase the load times, but the load time isn't that long if you have a decent computer.
step 3: make all them models and put them into the game now that the system is in place.
    step 4: ???
step 5: profit. that's literally it, not even joking. sometimes the best way to do something new is to tinker with a tried and true method. will it require switching to 1.9 completely? perhaps. will i be willing to do that if they at least fix the horrendously off-key noteblocks and the horse bugs? yes.

you're welcome, let's hope somebody that's real high up looks at this and either a) says that they'll look into it or b) at least explains why it wouldn't work.

there doesn't need to be a unique skin for every armor, by the way, there just needs to be enough.
