    Crafting Rework

If there’s one thing most people never do in Wynncraft, it’s professions. And there’s good reason. They’re tedious, not really worth it, and so linear that even if you’ve killed a god, you need to make dinky wands and armor out of poor quality wheat you got from a farm 5 minutes away from where you started. And this kind of sucks.

Wynncraft’s crafting system is actually really, really cool. The idea of slotting materials together in the right place makes every recipe kind of a puzzle. But nobody ever does this, unless they’re bored out of their mind, and this is because of the fact that in order to use any of the higher-level materials to make higher-level equipment, you need to level up your crafting profession all the way from zero, and most people probably didn’t do that, because it’s incredibly tedious. So I propose the simplest, most band-aid fix to crafting…

Step One: Let people use overleveled materials when crafting.

At first glance, this seems pretty simple, but also kind of problematic. On the bright side, when you’re level 102 and you find some cool crafting materials, you can actually use them without having to level up your crafting. But obviously, we do need to offer a benefit to using materials that are properly leveled. So let’s use rolls.

Step Two: Make sure that there is still incentive to level crafting

Every material has IDs that they add to an item, and like all items, the IDs have a minimum and a maximum. So, let’s just make it so that using a material you aren’t a high enough crafting level for will apply a heavy bias towards the minimum roll. Think of it like someone whose never touched bread in their life trying to make bread out of the highest quality ingredients and machines - they can use the complex ingredients and methods, but they’re not going to be very good at them.

But this gives us a new problem - how do we prevent people at level one from buying some overpowered dernic materials off the trade market and making some OP ass gear? Obviously, they won’t be able to use that gear, but it still doesn’t make sense.

Step Three: Make sure lower combat level players can’t use high level materials.

This one’s pretty easy. just make it so that you can’t use crafting materials higher than your combat level. that or a more severe version of that roll-dampening idea from last paragraph. i'm not a philosopher or something what did you want from me

    Conclusion

I think this would make crafting more accessible in general, and let more players make more cool stuff. The crafting system is really really cool, and it sucks that more people don’t get to experience it to its fullest extent. Also, so many people just toss all of their materials because they have no use for them, so this would make the material pouch actually kind of useful.
