Alright, what I meant during intelligence was more initiative. People are lazy, and will simply put forth their idea without previous research. As for your other point, I was saying why a thread wouldn't work for aforementioned reasons.

 

No one reads the "how to suggest" thread tho

It is a fair point that it may not work. However, the reason why I think it is better than the status quo is that at least there's a chance for them to see it instead of no chance. Plus, even if people still do, they can't use the excuse they couldn't have known.

 

The guys who post those suggestions are new, they don't read anything.

 

For some that's true, but I doubt that for all newcomers. I just thought maybe it would be better since they would see the title and know what it's about versus reading an already existing thread that not as many people read.

That is a valid point, I just thought at least a chance was better than no chance. Even if people do still post housing threads, at least they can't use the excuse they couldn't have known.

You mean housing is a valid suggestion? Don't get me wrong, I'm not that annoyed when I see housing threads because I can simply ignore them, though when I look at them most of the time the OP gets shit on and scrutinized for not knowing that housing has been suggested and rejected a million times before. That's the reason why I think housing should be on a list of suggestions to avoid. The Content Team confirmed housing won't happen, the idea has major holes, and is unpopular through most of the community.

 

the fact that other have failed miserably at something doesn't mean you will too.
if that's what you think we cant put all suggestions on that list and outlaw class, quest, lore, spells and pet suggestions

 

I explicitly stated this was only for housing, NOT for any other suggestions. Again, I've stated people could still post whatever they want to, just that they should know if the idea has been already been suggested or rejected before. Housing has been rejected so many times and has such major flaws that it's not going to be added. You don't have to convince me otherwise, because lots of people on the forums believe it and are the ones that shit on people who do post housing suggestions. By adding this simple guideline, people can know what's been suggested and rejected, that's it. It saves newcomers time and scrutiny from other players for posting a suggestion that has been rejected a MILLION times.

All right, I gotcha. I don't mean to come across as purely hating housing threads. All I thought was that maybe some people wouldn't post a housing suggestion if they knew it was done a million times before. And if that's the case, wouldn't it be easier for them to know about it by just having a simple guide on the first page of the General Suggestions instead of going through pages upon pages of dead threads?

and then we are back in 2015, we get a housing suggestion once every two months on average.

It's fine, I still get what you mean. I do agree with you that it's not as frequent, but I think it would still be nice to avoid the situation all together.
