You know they don't approve of that, right? Pretty sure it's not allowed.

Plus, that's really inconvenient. How would you think if you signed up to play a quick game of mafia and were then told to go register on a different forum?

Like, the current format of just dumping them into the forum games section is minimalistic and I suppose works if they don't wanna take the five minutes or however long it takes to add such a subforum

Putting it on mafiascum or such an exterior website is unnecessary and definitely a bad option

As I've said, this alternate option would be less successful than say, making a subforum, which can take about one minute if the mods are fast enough iirc

Around 50 people have participated in mafia games on the forum this month only. I also did some fast estimates of the amount of people posting in some other sub forums this month:

Introduce yourself: 50-70
Minecraft news: 3
Other games: 30-40
Minecraft: 25-35

You clearly don't know anything about role plays. We have a role play thread with 44 000 posts. That is more than 9 whole forums! I have a hard time believing that this is just a fad. Sure it may not be as popular as it is now but it will never disappear.

Make a forum? I don't think so. I have no personal experience but my gut instinct says that this will be pretty trivial especially if we can find an appropriate moderator for this sub forum.
