World Achievements

What do you think of putting achievements in the game?

  1. This idea is perfect 10/10 IGN

  2. Could use some hammering out, but it's a great concept B+

    So there is one small problem once players get to mid-late game level, ie lvl 50-70. That problem is gaining XP in a reasonable amount of time. The easiest way to get XP is to complete quests, but they only reward less around less than half the experience to level up on average. I know that there are systems in place such as dungeons and XP Bombs that help, but you still need to grind money for dungeon keys, and paying real world cash for an XP Bomb, though it helps everyone on the server, shouldn't be necessary to progress. So, what's my solution?

    ACHIEVEMENTS

    The idea of achievements is that you reward players for accomplishing tasks that they are already doing. For example, since there are no quest at level 59, the only way to earn XP is by either grinding mobs, or going through dungeons multiple times. you can have achievements that reward the player for the grinding and repeated dungeon crawling that aren't part of the normal XP distributing system for both.

    1) Troms Exterminator I
    Requirements: Kill 100 mobs found in the Troms region
    Reward: 2,500 XP

    2) Slimey Adventuring I
    Requirements: Beat the Undergrowth Ruins 3 times
    Reward: 75,000 XP

    3) Rugged traveler V
    Requirements: Find 20 discoveries
    Rewards: 5,000 XP

    Now to address complaints that some of you might have

    1) This will ruin all the fun of grinding for XP!!!

    Yeah, no. Grinding for XP isn't fun for everyone, and most people don't even have the time to grind. This just makes it easier on everybody.

    2) This would be too difficult to code into the game.

    Probably so, I do know how aggravating coding can be. Yet, if the achievement system is based off the questing system, except they are automatically activated at all times, then it shouldn't be too hard to come up with something

    3) There's no point of achievements if we have to grind for them.

    The point of achievements is to reward grinding, not remove it. This allows players to take less time between certain levels grinding and more time questing and dungeon crawling.

    4) THIS IDEA IS STUPID AND YOUR STUPID GO DIE IN A HOLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Ouch, seems I can't convince everyone. (oh yeah, also it's YOU'RE)

    So yeah, achievements. What do you all think?

    hmm, csst is going to be nerfed hard and trust me 90-100 is way harder than 50-70 (even though its where I found grinding the less fun), also they plan on adding quests and a lore to 90-100 while they don't for 50-70 :/
    or kill the key guardians wich spawn a lot imo especially for the dungeon close to troms ;)
    or wait for someone to throw one (and have friends and guildmate on a lot of different WC to tell you if there's a dxp bomb on their WC ;D)

    While I didn't understand at first, the examples afterwards definitevely helped me understand, so i'm not going to comment that much
    Sure! That's definitevely a thing wynncraft lacks imo! For the XP, I don't really know how many % of a level at this point it gives so i'm not gonna say its overpowered or underpowered ;)
    That is discoveries though (the new one they are adding in the next update also put every new town you go into as a discovery)
    Now to the part where you criticize as someone else where i'll comment most likely differently than what you said as an answer
    Imo no, it'll just make it easier, and it isn't really overpowered from what I see, it just gives the player a goal rather than farming soulessly

    Yes there is, make it easier to level up in a place where its boring to level up

    Anyway, its a good suggestion imo! While i'm not going totally on your part, I definitevely think that would be a cool idea!

    sooo basically bring back missions?
    man i miss those actually lol
    anyway they’re also adding a bunch of discoveries although it looks like they’re mainly in wynn and lower lvls (idk thats just wut i remember from like the 5 minutes i was on the free beta server lol)

    I was planning to make a Suggestion that has all the Achievements that you could receive and such.

    Example:
    Achievement:
    Discoverer
    Requirements:
    Find all Discorveries
    [0/15] <-(This can be changed later or something of the sort.)
    Reward:
    5,000 XP <-(Changeable)
    500 Emeralds <-(Changeable)

    Something like that, I might still make it, but you beat me to the punch! XD

    KEY GUARDIANS!!! SINCE WHEN WERE THERE KEY GUARDIANS!!!!!! (no seriously, how did I not know about this until now)

    I based the value of experience to be 50% of the experience you get from doing these tasks naturally (except for the discoveries, which I'm pretty sure don't award XP)

    Well ya know, great minds think alike and all that...
