Game Design About invisible barriers

    I remember back before there were barriers. Back then you were not allowed to go above some height limit or you would be teleported back down. This meant that you could anywhere as long as it wasnt too tall or the builders didnt block it off. And many areas were basically build to have really tall walls to do the same job as barriers do today.

    I do understand the frustration of trying to climb somewhere only to run into an invisible wall. It can be very hard for QA to place all the barrier blocks to begin with. However it can be EVEN harder to place barriers in a way that does not feel annoying.

    It's glitched. It's bugged. That's the heavy implication, trespassing on outright statement. You can get the cutscene to play before finishing the Desert Discoveries. And, by the way, this bug has existed for years, because it was there in 1.19 and still exists now, I think.

    welp, I didn't know. the bug has never allowed me to do it early.
